Zooms G3 Guitar Effects and Amp Simulator combines the ease of a stompbox pedalboard with the power of a multi-effects processor and USB audio interface. With complete control over individual effects and amp modeling, you can change your tones on the fly for both stage and studio.

Three stomps. One pedal.
G3 offers three large LCD displays and corresponding footswitches that form a graphical interface, allowing you to utilize up to three stompbox and amp effects simultaneously. The interface has also been simplified with three control knobs for each display. This intuitive design makes creating, saving and rearranging the effect chain of your own sounds a breeze and provides easy navigation in live and studio settings.
Evolution of tube amp simulation.

A newly developed sigmoid curve clipper re-creates the smooth clipping of a tube amplifiers waveform. With its faithful tube distortion, G3 can simulate amplifier sounds, including clean, crunch and full-gain tones that are authentic to the original models.
Super-real amp modeling.

G3s 13 super-real amp models range from vintage to the latest trends in amp technology, each with its own distinct cabinet modeling that can be used to alter its tone characteristics. By combining amplifiers and cabinets from different makers, you can digitally design your own custom rig. G3s modeling technology provides the best tone for both live performance and direct recording.

*Only one amp model can be used at a time.
94 stompbox models.

G3 has 94 diverse types of stompbox presets, including some of the worlds most popular guitar pedals. You can use up to three effects in any combination. G3s wide range of effects includes distortion, compression, modulation, delay and reverb. Its HD Reverb uses DSP power to produce a rich resonance that rivals outboard gear used in professional studios and live setups.

*Only two effects can be used in some combinations that feature amp models or HD Reverb.
The newest generation of DSP: ZFX-IV.
G3 utilizes the all-new ZFX-IV DSP effects processor. This generation of ZFX boasts amazing power, upgrading everything from sound to function and operability over previous versions. By using 32-bit floating-point processing, G3 possesses amplifier sounds that are more realistic than ever before.
Looper function with 40-second phrase recording/overdubbing.
G3s Looper capabilities include 40 seconds of phrase recording and overdubbing. The sound-on-sound function allows you to layer guitar sounds as many times as you want in real time. You can use looped sounds as simple backing tracks or create a full band feel with the built-in drum machine and DSP effects for a live solo.

• When the UNDO/REDO functions is enabled, the recording time is limited to 20 seconds.

USB audio interface for DAW recording.
G3 operates as an audio interface, letting you record directly to your computer via USB. All of your sound settings used during rehearsals or live performances can be recorded to your favorite DAW such as the included Steinberg Sequel LE recording software. The pedals direct monitoring capability eliminates any latency problems, assuring realistic studio conditions and hassle-free operation.

100 versatile effects on-board.
Select from 100 built-in DSP effects to create your own sounds on G3. Try its renowned compression and wah pedals, chorus effects with stunning depth and resonant reverbs. Or let your tonal imagination run free with dynamic flangers, tremolos, harmonized pitch shifters, multi-tap delays, reverse delays and much more. G3 can store up to 100 of your original creations without a hitch.
Integrated drum machine.
Choose from 40 different rhythm patterns, including 4, 8 and 16-beat, shuffle and many others. The tap key also makes it easy to directly set the tempo and start a jam session anytime.
Balanced XLR output for DI use.
With its built-in XLR output, you can avoid DI boxes completely and directly connect G3 to any mixing console and maintain a balanced, high quality signal. In addition, a convenient Pre/Post switch can direct an effected sound to the main outputs while passing the guitar signal directly to the XLR output without the help of an A/D converter.
Output modes for stage or studio.
Different output modes allow you to optimize G3s tones based upon its connection with your personal rig. In addition to modes for the front inputs of combo and stack amps, G3 can be used as a preamp when connected to a power amp input. By selecting the direct mode with a line connection, you can achieve a realistic guitar sound that is optimal for live use and recording.
Add a G3 to your pedalboard.
G3 is perfect for use in combination with traditional stompboxes. By adding a G3 to your pedalboard, you will decrease the size and complexity of your setup, while expanding your systems effects and modeling capabilities.
Accurate, real-time Tuner function.
The pedals Tuner function offers smooth, real-time response with precise guitar tuning accuracy. Whether youre in the middle of a performance or practicing alone in your room, simply hold down the pedals center footswitch to start getting your strings back on pitch. In addition, G3s LCD displays and LED indicators make the feature easy to use on a dark stage, where you can also mute the output for seamless tuning.
World's fastest patch change speed: 1ms.
With G3s amazing 1ms patch change speed, you will never miss a beat. Change from rhythm playing to a solo in an instant by simply pushing the switch.
Runs on batteries, AC adapter, or USB power.
G3 can operate on three different power sources: AC adapter (included), batteries or USB bus power when plugged into your computer. Four AA/LR6 alkaline batteries provide over six hours of continuous playing. Whether on stage or in the studio, G3 gives you reliable power options.

Super-low noise design.
G3s signal-to-noise ratio of 120dB and noise floor of -100dBm virtually eliminate background noise. G3s ZNR noise reduction removes feedback and other unwanted sounds, providing you with beautiful tones and natural release.

Optional expression pedal and footswitch.
Connect an optional FP02 expression pedal to G3 and control effect parameters such as wah, pitch shift, volume, drive gain, modulation rate and delay/reverb mix in real time. Use an optional FS01 footswitch to tap the tempo used for the drum machine, looper and effects. You can also use an FS01 to mute the Delay/Reverb input or turn Delay Hold on or off.

Zooms Edit&Share software, which is available as a free download for G3, allows you to create, edit and save your personalized amp and effect settings on your computer. Use its radar charts to access visual representations of each presets tone characteristics, amp/effect sorting feature to easily locate your sounds and drag-and-drop options to rearrange patches for editing purposes. With Edit&Share, you can download the latest patches online, as well as share your patches with others.

I've been playing for 20 years now. Wanted to get into digital modelling. My setup: Blackstar Ht Club 40 (Tube), Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro ii, pedals include TC flashback delay, Zvex fuzz factory, Keeley son of fuzz head, EHX pitch fork, JH-1 wah pedal, Boss noisegate, blackstar channel switch. When I got the G3, i updated it, downloaded the software and proceeded to then put it into my chain of effects. I put this unit in front of the amp in all different parts of my pedal chain and the sound was terrible. I put it in the effects loop and it was terrible. I used it on its own with no other pedals and it was terrible. There was so much digital feedback on every single effect option that it would not be usable in a live or at home setting. I also adjusted all of the global settings (volume, mix, Eq) to try and manage the feedback, but to no avail. My thinking is that zoom designed this to be a standalone unit that's meant to be run directly to XLR/PA system (with no other pedals in between). I'm not a tube snob, and I enjoy using different and unique effects. This pedal was not defective either. It just stank. I would suggest more research on your next pedal purchase and to stay away from this because it doesn't make the grade...

i have changed many gears since i came to Canada, and G3 is the only FX pedal have stayed at my place more than 1 year till now. the modular pedal design is so logical and allows you to create any new sound effect you have never heard before. the 40s looper is much longer than that 24s in line6 HD300 and HD400, so you can play almost twice more chords in your looper. the noise gate, acoustic simulation and the extreme distortion effect are my favorite in G3. btw, some would complain that the distortion is not so good, what i did to solve it is putting a fuzz module in front of the extreme distortion module, it sound much warmer then~ just try to create any combination you can imagine in this pedal and see if you like it~ it is the best pedal for learning sounds and effect in my opinion. btw, i don't recommend to buy a G3X with a express pedal, since i don't really trust the quality of the express pedal by Zoom, i just bought a morley mini wah/volume pedal to achieve the same goal and i think it is better to choose your own express pedal so you can get a wah-wah sound that satisfying yourself~

I’ve been playing for about 3 years now and have been using the G3 for the last 2. I picked up this unit because I didn’t know what effects I would really like and more importantly, use. I have heard lots of complaints about the G3 but they all seem to come from people with the “to die for tube amps”. I have a Marshall MG50 solid state amp and I have to tell you, the sounds and tones I get are AMAZING. I set the Marshall to CLEAN and let the G3 do all the work. The USB connection to PC with the Edit&Share software takes the flexibility of this baby to a whole new level. I would not want to jam without my G3.

I wanted to get a new FX pedal and save room on my board. I now have replaced 2 of my old units and added many more with the G3. It is very easy to switch between many effects and you customize which effects are where. Features - it is relatively easy to pre-set effects to your liking and combine what you need in different patches - you can set up a patch with up to 6 FX (with the V2.0 upgrade) for specific songs and name it what you like. The effects sound very good, the reverb is incredible when run through a loop. I have no need for amp modelling as I get plenty of great tones with my 4 amps so I cannot comment on that feature. The overdrive/distortion doesn't sound great through the loop as expected but likely sound much better in front, though this is not the way I'm running it. Overall, great value for the money, where else do you get a triple customizing pedal that sounds this great for this kind of money?

great amp modelers, great FX. Great Live and in your home studio. Works like a triple stompbox, and YOU decide what goes into each slot. Amazing results for recording, too. I prefer the XLR out into my main audio interface, over the USB, but USB works great, just in my setup, I prefer going through my 16 channel Alesis board. The Patch Editor software complements the manual tweaking of the settings. Recently, Zoom upgraded the firmware to v2.0 and now, the G3 can have 6 items, with 3 visible, but can scroll left to right, right to left to access the other stomps. The G3 v 2.0 is funtional as G6 (doesn't exist) the V2 should really be X2 as is 3 x 2 = 6 I have the new G5, and both are equal in results. G5 is more suitable for live performance. But, I used G3 for 20+ gigs. G5 for 50+ gigs (in last 3 months). Still have a Zoom G7 which still gets used from time to time, and it's seen 100+ gigs, and countless rehearsals, jam and recording.

I purchased the Zoom G3 to use mainly for rehearsals and possibly for gigs depending on the tones. I had previously tried to use several Zoom multi-effect units with not much satisfaction. However, this one seems to be a very solid unit with convincing amp/pedal modelling tones. It can be used in front of the amp (like 3 pedals going into the amp), in the fx loop (like 3 pedals in the loop), and as a separate preamp/effect unit into the power amp or direct. Due to the lack of an effect loop, the usual 4 cable method used for Boss GT series can't be applied here. But I must say that I am quite happy with the tones I get by going into the power amp section of a tube combo amp. It gives me the much needed flexibility in a small package. Lastly, I must say that the modelling sounds much better than the Boss GT-8 or GT-10. And for the price, this unit is definitely a worthwhile investment.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
