just bought this amp maybe less than a month ago. Its a great amp if you plug it into your computer or if you want to spend time fiddling with the knobs. But for me as a beginner thats too much.. FENDER FUSE has been discontinued and you can no longer download the software or presets from fender. You can however search around and within 5-10 minutes you should be able to find a download for the software and about 10,000 presets a lot of whichbare very similar. I found these on separate websites but I found it. Amp goes great with my new tele.

When I first started off, this amp was beautiful. Want a blues sound? Easily adjustable. Rock? Easily made to a certain extent. And by a certain extent, I mean that if you truly want to sound like Angus Young or Santana, you’re gonna wanna get a true amp. This amp has a lot of possibilities, but within 5 years you lose creativity and get bored. You spend your money how you want, but this just isn’t worth it in the long run.

Bought this as a starter for my son and am about to buy a second one for me. This will do everything we need for years to come (we just play for fun). Our guitar teacher has a bunch of high end amps and couldn’t believe how many features this one little amp had and when I told him the price his jaw dropped. Lots of variations on how to make your guitar sound to suit the song you are playing. Totally worth the money.

Great little amp in this price range. Excellent for beginners. Don't expect Fender Twin quality, but has some cool little presets and some effects which are great for someone just starting out. Loud enough to rock out, but not so much as to drive the neighbors crazy. I have one paired with an Epiphone SG, and for well under $500 it's a good combo for the young Angus Young!

I used to play professionally with BIG amplifiers. For a practice amp or even miced in a small venue, I don't think you can match any other amp with it, for the price. As far as I'm concerned, it's a Fender givaway.

This amp has tons of features, really good for any beginner which doesn't want to spend money on pedals. All you have to do is get the pedal that you can buy with it for 10 dollars. This allows you to switch between presets that you make (you can only make two). That was really helpful, I made a clean tone and a rockish tone and it worked great for a small concert I was doing. Another thing you should take advantage of is Fender Fuse. All you need is a micro USB to USB cord. Connect it to your computer and you can create and add your own effects to the amp. The Mustang also comes with a aux port which is helpful if you want to play along to the song on your computer. Just get an aux cord. Overall a great amp which I have no regrets on purchasing.

I've had this amp for quite a while now. For the price, it can't be beat. However, it's definitely targeted towards beginner and the effects included range from ok to gimmicky or just plain bad, especially compared to a decent selection of pedals. Having said that, I still use it and haul it around for practice with others as it's just that convenient to have everything as an all-in-one package. Just don't expect it to compete with the big boys (and at the price, if you do, then you're just fooling yourself!).

This was the first amp I bought. I don't use the effects, but I have tried them, and they are very good for being digital amp effects. The clean amp tone is great, and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a low priced amp with great quality.

I have used this amplifier for over a year and it has been an amazing amplifier and is great for beginners because you can put a bunch of effects on it using fender fuse. This saves you money on pedals. Personally, I don't need crazy pedals, just with fender fuse on this you can get almost all of the effects you need. Of course, you still need a wah pedal, but other than that there aren't too many other effects.

I've owned this thing for over a year, and I can't stress how useful its amp modelling has been for practice. It comes with 24 presets, all customizable both on the amp and in the included Fender Fuse software. The amp can put out a pretty huge amount of noise for its size, and can even work in small/personal gig situations (Talents shows, garage concerts, etc...). Overall, it has been a really helpful tool.

Some of the settings to be arrived at using the FUSE software are deliciously amazing. And when you find these sounds save them in the user banks and then mic the amp or line it out to a huge PA. LOUD. Yes you can gig with this.

This is clearly geared towards new guitarists. I know how tempting it is when you're starting out - "look how cheap! and look how many effects it has!" It does have all that, but you'll quickly find it hard to make it simply amplify your guitar. It's kind of gimmicky as it tries to 'sound like' a bunch of classic amps with well-known effects. But it just sounds contrived and you'll probably just want a proper tube amp. It's not terrible to start off with, but you'll probably end up upgrading to a regular amp in a few months. At least it retains most of it's resale value..

I've owned mine for a year now so thought it was time to give an honest review. This amp surprised me on sound quality and options. 24 pre-sets, but the fun part is tweeking the sounds and discovering new combinations and if you can learn how to use the FUSE software, you can save those sounds effects and even upload/download other sounds. Yes, the distortion on this amp is not up to a Marshall and a good pedal, but that being said, you can't USB a Marshall directly into your laptop and save your practice sessions. This is the best starting amp you can give to someone who's just starting out on the axe; they'll never get bored because of all the different sound options and it's great as a practice amp for the seasoned pro. Will you take this amp on stage and rock the house? No, but you'll appreciate the versatility, volume and everything you get for a $150 amp. Cannot recommend this Fender enough.

It is an awesome amp. It has a lot of sound effects that are changeable with Fender Fuse. You also get two other awesome programs called Ableton and Amplitube. Ableton is like a virtual audio mixer and Amplitube is like a virtual amp. There is therer are modulation, delay and reverb built into the amp. It does not have a Mid knob, but that is OK.

Its cleans are probably the best, but with my les Paul, they are slightly fuzzy unless I coil tap. Distortion leaves much to be desired, and is pretty fake and thin, regardless of tweaking. If your a blues guy, go for it, but good rock sounds are few and far between.

The biggest pluses are the price and portability. The amp modelling is good compared to anything else in that price range. With a little effort you can dial up pretty good tones for personal practice. Again, pretty amazing for the price. I was quite surprised that I liked the (more expensive, no modelling) Marshall MG15CFX better, but that's just my personal taste. I recommend doing a comparison before you buy so you can be sure to get what works for you.

I prefer tube amps, but have been looking for a small portable personal practice amp for quite a few years. In some ways this is a nice, light little amp. It models a number of big tube amps, mostly Fender and Marshall, and it sounds good until you put it beside another amp and compare tone. It does sound better than older solid state amps, but the crunch sounds leave a lot to be desired. I owned it for a year. I've tried Vox and Traynor solid state amps in the same class, Vox being the best of the group. But if you want a solid state amp in this class that sounds truly amazing, do yourself a favour and try out the Marshall MG15CFX and compare. It doesn't try to sound like a dozen different amps. It just does itself, beautifully.

A friend gave me one of these amps when he moved. I also have a Peavey Bandit 112. Since I got the Mustang, I don't use the Peavey any more. It's not that the Peavey isn't an excellent amp - the Mustang is just so versatile. The default settings sound awesome but when you start to tweak the presets with your own configurations it really shines. Rather than buying a bunch of pedals, just get a Mustang. I'm amazed by how inexpensive this amp is and how great it sounds. I love this amp!

I own many tube amps from 15 to 100 watts , so i have compared the mustangs to tubers . Still keep all my gear but i use the Mustang 1 V2 for home practice and I use the Mustang 3 V1 for band practice and gigs , plenty of volume and plenty of tone, sounds every bit as good as other tube amps, and , well , i prefer the sound of the Mustang over their Tubers . I was looking for a basic practice amp with a bit of reverb where small size was a must. The Mustang I exceeded every expectation. The '65 Twin Reverb setting has fantastic tone, and with a splash of reverb it's the exact sound I was looking for. The bonus is that the settings are seemingly endless and I haven't even started using the FUSE software. If you are looking for a plug-it-in-and-go-for-it amp that's small and light, this is the amp for you. Don't worry, it's plenty loud, but it doesn't have to be to get the sound you are looking for.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
