Compact type portable piano with slim design and simple functions.

Piano Sound
AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) sampling uses digital technology to record an instrument's sound. It then applies a high-quality digital filter to the recorded audio samples. AWM Stereo Sampling creates a deeper, richer and more spacious sound by using pairs of waveforms (L and R) captured with two microphones.

Graded Hammer Keyboard
Just as on a traditional acoustic piano, the keys of the lower notes have a heavier touch while the higher ones are more responsive to lighter playing. The keyboard's sensitivity can even be adjusted to match your playing style. This Graded Hammer technology allows this lightweight instrument to provide an authentic touch.

Easy To Use Interface
P-35's interface is really simple. The Grand Piano button is easy to find on the front panel and instantly returns the P-35 to the best acoustic piano Voice.

If you're looking for just a piano, this is it. It's perfect and has a key weighting similar to Yamaha's upright pianos which is brilliant and I have yet to find any others with similar quality in terms of weighting at this price point. Very clean and not too heavy, the sound is alright especially considering its price point. The one drawback is the lack of USB connectivity which I wish it had for composition purposes.

I purchased this piano in Sept, and was very satisfied with it's performance. It is portable enough that I don't need my brother's help to carry it around, and it nicely fits in my Camry's trunk, without having to flop down the seats. The sounds are decent and you can set it to play dual instruments. Volume is great. Weighted action is not stiff at all. Some might prefer it a little stiffer, but I like it, (and I'm a piano teacher, and have my Gr. 10). I have since sold the instrument to a student family. I would definitely consider buying another one for my own use, as it is so ideal for when you need a portable. It's only drawback from a composer stand point is that it uses the standard midi hook-up, not the new USB to host cable. But it appears that you can easily find an adapter if you are wanting a basic keyboard to connect to a computer for composition purposes.

I bought this digital piano because I was looking for a portable keyboard that would be light enough to carry around town but also have a realistic and warm piano tone that would be suitable for jazz piano trio performances. In combination with the Roland KC-350 amp, this keyboard produces a beautiful acoustic-like tone that is very refined and dynamic. The only drawback of this keyboard is that it only has 32-voice Polyphony, which may make it less suitable for classical music if you are playing Debussy or other music with a lot of sustain pedal. However for Chopin or Bach it works just great. The highlight of this keyboard besides the portability and light weight (~25 pounds light), is definitely the realistic acoustic piano keyboard feel + hammer action. It plays with a very realistic piano touch which is suitable in my opinion for students learning to play piano of all ages, as well as advanced players who need a convenient and affordable keyboard to practice on at home or on the road. I highly recommend this instrument, it is very similar in tone and touch to my former 70-pound Yamaha P90 keyboard, but is so much easier to carry around weighing only ~25 pounds. The metronome in the P-35 also works very well and is convenient to use once you read the manual. I also like the Electric Piano 2 sound which is similar to a classic Rhodes keyboard, also useful for jazz. The vibes is also a classic and useful sound which I can use for solos with my band. Many thanks to Yamaha for making an affordable and awesome all around piano keyboard. Now there is no excuse for anyone not to learn to play the piano ;) For about one month's rent you can own your very own piano keyboard that is worthy of spending hours of practice and enjoyment. Just auditioned this at my local L&M. Very impressed with built in sound system. Grand Piano sound is amazing and Electric Pianos are spot on. Keyboard touch is pretty good, even for a synth/accordion player like myself. I would buy this in a heart beat!

I purchased this unit as I was looking for a decent 88key with hammer grade. I found the action on this bed much nicer than many more expensive ones and have fallen in love. If you are looking for lots of voices...this is not the unit (only c/w 10). If you want knobs and faders (none)...this is not the unit. I am using NI Komplete 8 so I have a ton of VST's and instrument options. I have Maschine so I can adjust all of the parameters from there. I just wanted a keyboard that was going to feel as close to a piano as that is my preference and this fits the build and is amazing for the price. The stock voices are decent and so are the built in speakers. It's nice to not have to run my DAW and VST's if I want to just hop on quickly and go straight to composition. The only criticism I have is that the sustain pedal it comes with is very low end. I would suggest getting a better quality pedal that accommodates a 1/2 sustain as well. Otherwise, it is either full sustain or none at all. You can't feather the one that comes with. However, that is a small criticism on the grand scheme of things and shouldn't be a deal breaker as many don't come with any pedal period! I strongly suggest this model. Especially if you are like me and on a budget.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
