Coming from a rock/pop/folk singer/songwriter background, I wondered if I really would use this program when I set up my humble home studio. It looked like something for spacey techno . I had done the usual drums/bass/guitars/keyboards stuff. Omnisphere completely changed the way I make music, for the better. The sounds are jaw-droppingly beautiful. My music now has much more texture and originality. I got out of the box I was in. To address some of the criticisms of it, namely: 1) It's only for trance/techno/soundtracks. This is nonsense. Omni can do it all. It doesn't have a lot of bread and butter sounds, but that is not what it is for. It takes your music beyond those borders. 2) It all sounds the same. More nonsense. The preset library is 40GB. And it is so easy to manipulate and combine sounds you'll never run out. Omni sets your imagination free. I know that sounds corny, but it's true. My go to synth for all occasions. Best VST I have, easily.

The only thing it lacks is the ability to add own samples. It is one amazing virtual instrument.

Omnisphere has an incredible number of samples and synth capabilities, and unlike a lot of VSTs, the presets are amazing! It's pricey, but worth it.
