This progressive collection of studies and traditional tunes serves as a violin student's introduction to the world of fiddling. Each of the three leveled sections (elementary, late elementary, and early intermediate) contain eight original studies and four traditional tunes. The studies, each named after a place in Western Canada, are in fiddling style and are designed to prepare students for the technical challenges they will find in fiddle favourites, such as Irish Washerwoman, Sailor's Hornpipe, and Turkey in the Straw.
