Bruce has 10 years of classical piano training from the Toronto Conservatory. He has been teaching guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica and piano for over 30 years. He specializes in guitar finger-style, country, blues and ragtime, 5 string bluegrass banjo. He offers students positive instruction and encouragement to be the best musicians they can be.
His rate is $29 per half hour.

chris hill (Guitar, Bass Guitar, Ukulele)

Chris was born in Montreal Quebec and moved to BC when he was five, It wasn't long after that his love of music began to surface. His mother played jazz piano and his father played British invasion guitar mixed with the blues. So from an early age Chris had plenty of influences to choose from. His brother gave him a fretless bass when he was 9 followed by some guitars for various birthdays from his parents including a fender Stratocaster for his 16th.
After playing in bands in high school Chris was off to Capilano University where he studied jazz.immediatly following that he hit the ground running playing professionally in live in studio situations for the next 20 years.
He then switched from live to lessons and has been teaching steadily for the last six years. Chris takes great pleasure introducing people to music, watching them develop and hearing the tangible results.
His rate is $28 per half hour.

eden heyns (Cello)

Eden began playing cello around the age of 7. Originally from South Africa, she took private lessons for many years. Eden has taken part in many Eisteddfods, played in a string ensemble, and also attended the International Academy of Music in Italy at the age of 16. She has played in and performed with two orchestras in South Africa, and has experience as principal cellist in both. Recently, she also played with the Trinity Western University Orchestra. Her rate is $28 per half hour.

ella smith (Piano, Theory)

Ella has been teaching piano in the South Surrey / White Rock area for over 25 years. She has her A.R.C.T. in Piano Teaching from the Royal Conservatory of Music, as well as a BA from UBC and is a member of the British Columbia Registered Music Teachers Association. She is an RCM Certified Specialist in Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced Piano, in Elementary and Intermediate Theory, and in Advanced Music History and Harmony. She specializes in teaching Classical music and exam preparation but also enjoys teaching those students who want to learn for their own enjoyment.
Her rate is $30 per half hour lesson.

erland wenn (Guitar, Bass, Ukulele)

Erland is an experienced and dedicated musician with a diploma in music from VCC. Erland has been teaching guitar and bass for over 25 years. He has an enthusiastic personality and enjoys teaching many different styles of music. Erland can also teach ukulele. As well, he runs our rock band program, showing young musicians how to play as a group. He welcomes students of any age and ability.
His rate is $29 per half hour.

gord campbell (Guitar, Bass Guitar, Ukulele)

Gord has been active in the musical landscape of the lower mainland since the early 80s, playing professionally with such artists as Anette Ducharme, Tony Pappa and the Buicks.
He has done many studio sessions, recording with bands such as the Headpins. Gord has taught guitar for 8 years, focusing mainly on rock guitar, with special attention to soloing and improvisational skills. He also teaches beginner bass, ukulele, and mandolin. Gord teaches all age groups for acoustic/electric guitar. Rock guitar students can range from beginner to advanced students. He especially enjoys making the experience of learning a musical instrument fun and enjoyable for the student. His rate is $28 per half hour.

harold donnelly (Guitar)

Harold has a Bachelor of Music Degree from Capilano University, a Diploma in jazz from Vancouver Community College, and a Bachelor of Education Degree. He has been an active member of the musical scene for a number of years and a music educator for the past 5 years. Harold is currently working with his band 'Portage and Main', Emma Postl, and various solo projects. Harold teaches bass and guitar to students of all ages and abilities. He is well versed in rock and popular music.
His rate is $28 per half hour.

Ian Moncur is a well respected guitarist in Vancouver and the founding member of the band 'One and a Half'. Ian has been teaching and successfully gigging with the band in the lower mainland for over 20 years. Specializing in classic and modern rock,is a whiz at soloing. Ian uses the tab method for his teaching. Ian strives to give each of his students the most inspiring and fun learning experience possible.
His rate is $29 per half hour.

jason ritchie (Drums)

Born into a family of musicians, Jason has been performing on stage since he was 6 years old. By the age of 17, he was an active member of 7 different bands and ensembles, professionally performing and recording. Jason has taught drumming and performance for over 10 years and is able to relate to students of all ages and mindsets. He excels at tailoring his lessons to accommodate each student's individual motivations. Students will become interested and excited about learning music and become more confident and successful on the drums.
Jason's rate is $29 per half hour.

jennifer abbott (Piano, Clarinet, Ukulele, Pre-School Piano)

Jennifer Abbott has been an avid member of the music scene for over 35 years, teaching and specializing in piano and keyboard knowledge. She has extensive experience instructing students of all ages and styles of piano, keyboard and ukulele. Jenn has been involved with many workshops, accompanied professional choirs and taught group lessons. Jenn offers and enjoyable and practical approach to learning and welcomes students of all ages and abilities. Jenn especially loves working with young children and beginners. She also teaches beginner clarinet to students 8 years and older.
Her rate is $29 per half hour.

julia kim (Violin)

Julia has a Bachelors Degree in Violin from Yonsei University in Korea, and a Masters Degree from the American Conservatory of Music. She has performed in many different orchestras and ensembles as a member and a concertmaster. She has been teaching violin for over 30 years and teaches students of all levels and ages. Many of her students have competed at festivals with distinction. Julia is a welcoming teacher who enjoys seeing her students improve. She often finds herself sharing her love and passion for classical music with her students.
Her rate is $30 per half hour.

jullin o'scheaur (Piano, Theory, Voice)

Jullin began Classical piano studies at an early age, followed by Jazz studies at Humber College. She has a diploma in piano teaching from Western Ontario Conservatory of Music. Her formal Vocal Performance studies began at Lakehead University, continued with Robert Turner of Portsmouth, Virginia and followed by lessons with Dr. Shirley Zielinski at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Jullin has performed professionally in many styles from Pop, Rock, Blues, Jazz to Musical Theatre, Classical and Choral music. As an administrator, past positions include: Executive Director of the Richmond Music Festival; Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festivals and GM of the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra.

kelsey luo (Piano, Voice)

Kelsey has her ARCT in piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music and has studied vocal performance at Berklee College of Music. She has over 10 years teaching experience. Kelsey is also an avid performer and solo recording musician. She is enthusiastic and makes strong connections with all her students. She looks forward to teaching all ages, levels, and styles in both piano and voice. While she loves rock and metal she is also interested in classical, pop, and r'n'b.
Kelsey's rate is $29 per half hour.

mike schmidt (Drums, Piano)

Mike has been teaching for over 25 years and has been a professional drummer since the age of 14. He has a Grade 10 Diploma in piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music. He has also trained to teach advanced jazz and improvisation for piano and drums. On drums he has worked with several bands such as Trooper and recently received recognition in the Canadian music Hall Of Fame for his contributions during his time with Trooper. He excels in teaching rock, jazz, latin and funk. Mike welcomes students of all skill levels and caters to ages 7 and up.
His rate is $31 per half hour.

randy morrison (Saxophone, Flute)

Randy Morrison has a passion for playing and teaching saxophone and flute. He performs locally in rock and popular music bands in night clubs, jazz orchestras, and small combos. Randy has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Simon Fraser University in Music Composition and is comfortable with teaching all levels and ages. He is familiar with a variety of styles such as Popular, Rock and Roll, Jazz, Classical, R&B and many more. His main instrument is baritone sax, but also plays tenor and alto sax as well as flute.
His rate is $29 per half hour.

richard gurney (Violin, Viola)

Richard has been teaching violin and viola for over 20 years. He has a diploma in performance and pedagogy from the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Victoria. He has performed in numerous orchestras in Canada, the UK and France. He welcomes students of all levels and abilities. He focuses mainly on classical music and many of his students are involved in local youth orchestras.
His rate is $30 per half hour.
