It was intended to split a signal, but using a 50ft 1/4" cable, it does not work very well or not at all. If it was powered to boost the signal, then this would've been a 10/10. This is the only ART product that I was disappointed in. And if you're concerned over the stiffness of the knobs....... Then go find another hobby. Posted by A.B. on Oct 10, 2012

It's essentially the most versatile "splitter" ever. I'd call it a mixer, but by this day and age we've accepted that the word "mixer" gets given to devices that can add gain, which this can not. Plus, I've just started calling it my splitter out of habit. It's true passive and does exactly what it says it does. Never had a problem. I would have given it a 10 for quality, but I feel like the knobs are a tad too stiff. Posted by Mike on Jul 27, 2012
