| I initially rented this guitar in 2002 because my existing guitar had to go into the shop a day before a gig. I bought it soon after. Amazing value for the money, the only reason I don't rate it 10 is the pickup selector switch became crackly fairly quickly and the pickups are a bit woofy, but both are easily remedied. For tone and playability I suppose a Gibson might be marginally better but not enough to spend and extra couple G's, and with a pickup swapout and maybe new nut you're right there. Buy it.
