| The balance and playability of this instrument are superb. Easily the most comfortable bass I've owned in the thirty-eight years I've been playing. Of the hundred or so instruments I've had this one is in the top three.
The pickups and active preamp are fairly tame but smooth and punchy and get a variety of sounds that sit well in a mix. In passive mode it's a pretty traditional sounding Jazz bass. My only complaint is the pickup blend control is passive and doesn't allow as much flexibility as an active blend would. On the other hand if it were active it wouldn't work with the bass in passive mode.
The factory setup was low and extremely good requiring only very minor adjustment to suit my personal taste. Very well finished in every regard and super playable right out of the box.
