| The Maschine Mikro is ideal if you are a studio musician, and you don't mind either navigating menus or using your mouse. The software capabilities are the same as with Maschine - period.
Maschine software integrates with other Native Instruments softsynths like Razor, FM8, Absynth, etc., and it can import your Battery3 kits as well.
The Mikro is a smaller controller, and it does lack MIDI connectivity (it connects via USB only) so it cannot be used to directly drive an external synth or drum machine, for example - but software (like MIDI PatchBay for Mac) can route signals from it out a secondary MIDI interface.
Same great software, and the interface is largely the same. You can't tweak parameters are smoothly and easily, but if you're in the studio, that's not as crucial as it is for live performance. Posted by Chris Vessey on Jul 4, 2012 | |||
