| Started out using Acid Pro, Nuendo, Cubase 4, Cakewalk x1 producer all with a M-Audio Fast Track Pro. Needed a new audio interface so did my research and came across Presonus Audiobox 44vsl. Read great thing about it so purchased it. Studio One Artist came in the box so I tried it and was sold from the get go. Could use my 3rd party but had unlimited tracks unlike most water down DAWS. Purchased the Pro. version for the Mastering tool and I am totally, 100% sold and have been using it since December 2011. Love it. Try it out and you will love it too. | I used Cubase from the time it was a midi only. In 2007 I went Mac and got into using Logic. They are both great DAWs and have their strengths and weaknesses but Studio One 2 is really forward thinking. Great support and the workflow is unmatched. It took me literally a couple of hours to get familiar enough with this DAW to decide I was going to stick with it. They are always adding new features and they don't gouge you when they do. | I had been using Sony Acid Pro 7 for years. Seems the company has decided to let the product go and not develop it. I was looking around for something that felt semi-familiar to Acid Pro as Acid has great tool functionality, but something that was 2012 and something I could get my head wrapped around with 64x compatibility. A couple of guys mentioned Presonus in the forums. I looked it up and downloaded the Demo. After messing around in it briefly I could tell that it was going to be the platform for me. I pulled up my task manager and as I am running a quad core all cores were running stable. It imported my 3rd party plugin's seamlessly. Very happy with this DAW. Check it out! | Presonus Studio One may lack some of the features of Steinberg's Cuuabse, such as the legato function, but when it comes to stabi8lity, ease of use, solid wor4kflow, you can't find better, in my book. I've still got Cubase (Studio 5)on my system, but, lasst time I rtired to use it, it wouldn't let me render, saying I was CPU overloading...and only two vsti plugins. Cubase always freezes, crashes often, but Studio One...nope, so I've been using it more than ever. Also great is the fact that you can master in the same program, so now, gone are Sound forge and CD Architect, from Sony. I mean, those are apt programs...but so mmmuch more convenient to do it all in Studio ONe...Red Book format supported...and sup[erb results.
This is a great program and, for the price, you'd be hard pressed to find anything that offers so much, albeit, a few (minor) features missing. Did I mention it supports Celemony Melodyne natively? A great DAW. Posted by anonymous on May 3, 2012 | |||
