| Picked this guitar up about two weeks ago and I am loving it. Low action, and the pickups aren't that bad. I haven't played in about 10 years and used to play on an Ibanez RG450 which is now in VERY rough shape after being neglected for years. I get the same Ibanez feel out of this GAX30 as I did with the RG450.
Has great styling, stays in tune and has the basics to get you up and playing. If you're just starting out or want a guitar to travel with instead of bringing your expensive guitar around all the time, this is right up there.
I plan on swapping the OEM strings out for the Slinky Regulars. The newer GAX30s come with chrome knobs. I ordered black numbered knobs to match the old GAX30 style.
The finish glossy paint GLEAMS and it is super easy to clean. I was unable to find any after market pickguards for it (a carbon fiber one would be cool) but all in all it's a great piece. Well worth the $200 if you think you might be interested in guitar and do not want to drop a lot of money.
This guitar paired with a Lin6 6 Pocket Pod and a seat of headphones is the ultimate apartment practicing setup. A+ Ibanez, A+! Posted by Scott on May 12, 2013 | |||
