|I replaced my old Yamaha 01x with this interface and a couple of Rode M3s. The sound quality is superior - I'm not too good with specs, but I've had 10+ years experience of recording with audio interfaces and, to my ear, you can't get better than this for this price.
It's got a fantastic system for setting up recording mixes for musicians too which I use in conjunction with the control room in Cubase 4 which means you never get the mics piped to your monitors. Highly recommended for a home setup.|

|This product is fantastic, the recordings are crisp (award winning pre-amps) and theres 8 XLR inputs to use so I don't have to unplug anything, just click and go. No effects onboard but w/e I personally don't need effects in my interface because I do them all with the software (some of which came with the saffire 40)|

|I bought this unit when my Presonus Firebox bit the dust. Everyone else I know has the MOTU MK3 Travellers, now i was going to get a MOTU but was sold on this for a few reasons. First off the price, its almost half the cost of a MOTU with almost the same inputs and outputs. The preamps on this unit are also far superior in my opinion. The only thing the MOTU has over this unit is the on-board effects, now I do all my effects post recording so they were not a big issue for me. The Saffire Pro comes with plugins so really its a personal preference.
Lots of inputs and outputs
Plugins included (Reverb, Delay, Compressor)
Doesn't look as pretty as other units
In a nut shell if you want superior recording quality and don't mind sacrificing on-board effects with plugins buy this unit. I will never buy anything other than this.
Perfect for home studios, electronic musicians, beginners|
