| I used this amp for rehearsals and a couple of live shows (once direct to the floor). I now have an AC15C1. The VR does get pretty close to the sound of the tube amp. It isn't as loud, and as a result the sound at rehearsal volumes is not as clear or clean. It will do the job, but it won't cut through all that well or have much left in reserve. | Describing this amp: vintage meets modern. You get all that vintage VOX clean tube sound from the normal channel. Switch to OD1 and you get a classic overdrive which complements he classic rock sound. Switch to OD2 and you have the perfect lead sound for that blazing solo. This amp is versatile!! Even thought its a hybrid (tube and solid state) this amp sounds like a classic tube amp. The amp is good looking with the classic VOX look. The only downfalls I could find was that the foot-switch wasn't included and it would of been great if you had the option of setting the midrange. (you can set it on the AC30VR thought).
