Wow, I'm glad I bought this mic! Very versatile! Sounds good on just about anything! Great for most vocals, acoustic guitar, stand up bass, kick drum....love it. Very smooth mic with great specs! Gotta say, I own a 214, a 414BXLII and now this the 414XLS - 9 polar pattern mic. This is generally my go to mic now. I love the intermittent polar patterns particularly 2&3 together, really makes a vocal sound smooth. I just find this mic gives a very good representation of the singer with very little colour and very flat signal. Great for Pop Rock, R&B vocals. Purchase this mic and you will not be disappointed. It's also worth mentioning that this mic sounds best with a mogami neglex cable. I have tried several cables, the Monster P500 the Mogami stage gold's and a custom cable that was built from Bosch.
