| Although this Kala might be considered more 'entry level' by some, this is a beautiful, solidly made uke with gorgeous, rich tones.
I'm still a beginner myself and had to get this tenor in addition to my little soprano cheap-but-goodie starter uke.
WOW. Of course the sound is different on the Tenor but the depth and richness of the tones is amazing, the strings have a different feel (quality, that is) and it's holding its tuning nicely (starter uke had me tuning daily for 6 weeks before settling in...).
Most people start on a soprano uke apparently, but both the sounds of this tenor and also the size of the fret might change the ease of which someone learns? (That is, sopranos are the smallest and therefore have the closest spaced frets/shortest distance. Tenors have much more space between... of course, Concert ukes fall in between the two.)
Simply put: this is a great deal for the quality you're getting. If you're interested in a Tenor uke, this would be an excellent option! Posted by Lisa Moon on Mar 10, 2012 | |||
