How to DJ - The Basics
The course is designed for the beginner who has never stepped in front of a turntable and wants to learn the basics of DJing. It will cover the fundamentals, whether you want to become a club or party DJ, a battle DJ, or are simply looking for a new hobby.
Skills covered:
All equipment, including turntables, needles, mixers and speakers, will be provided.

About DJ Murge:
Redbull 3Style DJ Battle Champion Murge has been playing and touring the Canadian club scene for over 10 years, as part of Victoria's longest running club night, C1RCA Presents: Stirfry and as one half of the massive Champion Sound Dee-Jays, playing festivals such as Shambhala, Soundwave, Jazz Fest, Folk Fest and more. Murge recently DJ'd at the Olympic Torch Relay Ceremony in Victoria alongside Kia Kadiri, Daniel Lapp and the West Coast All Stars Band. He has also worked with Afrika Bambattaa, G-Unit, Malente, The Pharcyde, De La Soul and many others.
Murge has had two videos on Much Music , one of which won a Leo Award for Best Music Video in 2007. He has produced tracks for the likes of Slug (Atmosphere), Cadence Weapon, Swollen Members, Moka Only, Kinnie Starr ,The Grouch ,Living Legends , Sondoobie and others. He has also remixed songs for Tegan & Sara, The Racoons , The Blue Violets and more.
