Long & McQuade Halifax is pleased to host Flute Day with Adrianne Greenbaum.

Adrianne has decades of experience as a symphony and chamber musician, teaches at Mount Holyoke College, is a Powell and Miyazawa artist, and leads a double life as a klezmer flutist.  Her complete bio can be found at www.klezmerflute.com. She has been a featured artist at Boxwood, and is an engaging performer in both the classical and klezmer world.

SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY

• 10:00am - I want "THAT" Tone!
  Magic Lips - and all that's around them
  Colors
  Volume - from Lush to Hush
• 11:30am - Master Class for ANYONE who wishes to play their etude, solo rep, excerpts, or even short phrases of ANY sort (First 5 to sign up to play. No audition process. No additional fee)
• 1:00-2:00pm - Lunch (BY0), mingle, share!
• 2:00pm - Explore another dimension: The world of KLEZMER
  The nuts and bolts: Modes, Sighs, Boyps, Krekhts
  Comparing and linking baroque and klezmer ornamentation
• 3:30-4:30pm - Ensemble Jam!
  Klezmer flute choir + Learn dances that go with the tunes! (YES, YOU WILL DANCE!)
