She will discuss how vocal anatomy works together with specific vocal exercises for maximum quality and balance of breath and sound. This session will include: source filter theory, how to create a balanced, relaxed sound by focusing on breath, how the shape of the mouth changes harmonics and tone, and much more. The majority of the session will be spent one-on-one with each singer on a vocal selection of their choice, in front of the session audience. Singers will try new exercises, fine tune a passage, or experience breakthrough on a song that’s been a challenge. Singers, please bring a track or sheet music in the correct key, or be prepared to accompany yourself. If you would like to perform, please contact Matthew McGuigan at [email protected] to register prior to March 19th. Listeners are welcome to attend. Doors will be locked by 6pm.
