Sits in the middle of the range but really you would have to spend another 1500 bucks to noticably improve. This thing is a tank (T-34). It does everything you want in a rhythm guitar. You can play metal with it if you channel it through the right amp, but honestly if that is what you want probably easier to go with a Les Paul or a bizillion Ibanez types. For blues, jazz, punk, heartland, classic,grundge, and yeah country unless you are playing lead this is it. Stop right here. Nothing comes close. You will never need another. Having said that I like my Tele's heavy and the newer ones are lighter, but I am in a minority here so if you want a heavy Tele get a pre 2012. Otherwise these are in a class of there own.
