The Yamaha P-105 has an 88-note, Graded Hammer Standard weighted action keyboard that feels heavier in the low end and lighter in the top, just like the keys of an acoustic piano. The PureCF sound engine recreates the sound of Yamaha's famous CFIIIS concert grand piano. Also new, the USB to Host port and line-level AUX outputs allow a variety of connectivity options with everything from an amplifier to an iPad. And 128-note polyphony ensures the suppression of dropped notes even with simultaneous Dual, Split, and drum pattern playing. In the EQ department, Intelligent Acoustic Control provides full, balanced sound that adapts to your volume setting for the best possible tone at any level.

Features

Compact and stylish digital piano
The P-105 is a compact digital piano with Yamaha's outstanding acoustic piano touch and tone. It is portable, easy-to-use and versatile for everyone from beginner to pro.

Pianist Style
Pianist Styles turn your simple chords into exciting accompaniment. Play a chord and the Pianist Style gives you a full piano accompaniment. 10 built-in Styles offer the variety of backings to fit your performance and help you sound great!

Rhythm function
Basic drum patterns put the "fun" back into practicing and are a practical alternative to a metronome.

Piano sound
The P-105 uses Yamaha's Pure CF sound engine, a first for the P-series.
This piano sound was recorded from Yamaha's renowned CFIIIS concert grand piano, which can be heard on stages all over the world.

Built-in speakers
P-105 has built-in, true-circle speakers. The true-circle speakers vibrate naturally with good balance to convey full, rich, low-frequencies. Newly added tweeters offer a clear and brilliant sound due to their strategic positioning. Together, they provide an excellent balance of power and clarity.
88 weighted keyboard
Just as on a traditional acoustic piano, the keys of the lower notes have a heavier touch, while the higher ones are more responsive to lighter playing. The keyboard's sensitivity can even be adjusted to match your playing style. This Graded Hammer technology allows this lightweight instrument to provide an authentic touch.

Great Connectivity
The P-105 is equipped with USB TO HOST to connect directly to your computer for use with various education, notation and music production applications. There's also an AUX LINE OUT to connect to a computer sound card, mixing console or powered speakers - great for recording or performing live. Since it's a true line-output, the built-in speakers remain on for monitoring as opposed to switching OFF when using the more common headphone output.

Available in Black and White.

I was originally looking at the P 255, but found that the 105 suited my needs much better (thanks to Josh at the South Edmonton store!). Grand Piano and harpsichord sounds are excellent. Bach would have been jealous. Only 2 slight drawbacks, but not really important-the input jack for the headphones is 3.5mm as opposed to the now standard 1/4 inch-no big deal, $10 adapter fixes it. And there is no LCD screen for the metronome settings. Would have been a "nice to have". Overall an excellent choice, great sound, good weighting on all keys, and the volume on each key varies with weight used-great action.

I rented one of these for several months with my sole criteria at the time being lowest cost. Let's be real: this is pretty much the cheapest 88-key unit you can get, so it's not loaded with features nor spectacular sounds or anything amazing. But I was pleasantly surprised at just how decent this unit is for the price. The feel of the keys, while a long ways from great, was not frustrating to play like some cheap keys are. The piano sound was useable and the USB-MIDI proved handy for using external software instruments. Considering the price, I was expecting something bordering on total garbage, but my expectations were exceeded. Great value.

I've got to hand it to Yamaha. If you are a pianist who values the response, feel and touch of a keyboard at an inexpensive cost, you won't regret purchasing this board!

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
