Lloyd Larson's skilful blend of original and familiar music with scripture-based narrative provides a dramatic experience culminating in this challenge to today's believers: "Will you be a witness?" A great choice for Lent, Holy Week, and Eastertide, this cantata includes seven choruses and optional congregational singing and is available in both SATB and SAB editions. A single narrator and three witnesses can convey the story, or the cast can be expanded to include two narrators, Blind Man, Caiaphas, Jesus, Pilate, and the spontaneous witness of members of the congregation.
