Picked this OD up after playing every overdrive they had in stock at the winnipeg location. What really sold me, other than the sticker price, was the fact that this sounds good across the board. You can dime the gain and get a saturated, nearly fuzz tone, or bring it all the way down for a fairly clean boost. A/B with ts 808 I was able to nail pretty much every tone and then some. At first i wasnt too sure about the whole non true bypass thing, but the bypass buffer is amazing for preventing signal loss across a long chain. The casing is heavy duty, theres a youtube vid of one of these being run over by a truck then plugging in and going. I managed to lose the tone knob letting this pedal flop around loose in my gig bag, but that is a purely cosmetic issue, and my feet don't care how pretty the things they stomp on are. My ears care about how pretty the sound is, and it is plenty pretty. I run my settings at gain 4-5 and tone about 6 with a strat with the bass boost switch engaged, with the les paul I flip off the BB and roll off the gain a little bit. This setting allows me to go from a convincing clean to smooth grain od using only the guitar volume. The volume on this pedal is pretty ample, keeping it at about 4 is balanced on/off, if you crank the vol to 10, we're talking seriously loud. Posted by Cary on Jan 30, 2011
