First, let me share the reasoning for why I bought this guitar: I bought this guitar because I know that teles have a great sound; it's one of those classic guitars that you can't really go wrong with. I bought this model because of the affordable price, and because I didn't really want to deal with single coils. I play a vox AC15 (all tube) which is a pretty bright amp as it is, so buying a standard tele would probably make my tone really thin and bright I ordered the guitar because none of the stores had it in stock. They didn't even have it in their warehouse, so it was coming right from Fender California. I was a little worried about how long it would take for Fender to ship it, but it actually came early. I waited about 2 and a half weeks. I also called the local store a bunch, and they were in contact with fender a handful of times. Great customer service. The guitar sounds fantastic. Everyone says to swap the pots to 500k... I might do that eventually because I've heard it opens up the sound a little, but it sounds great as is. My Vox takes this guitar really well. between the two pickups, you can get a lot of sounds. The wide range humbuckers sound excellent. I had to take a bit of a chance on it because I didn't get a chance to play the guitar before I bought it - I couldn't find one anywhere. After getting it I must say it's incredibly enjoyable to play. I've heard alot of people say the neck is clumpy - I don't find that. It's not nearly as clumpy as my old les paul. I find it much easier to play. In all honesty my biggest concern about the guitar was I didn't really love the way it looked online. I didn't like the black or the walnut, So I ordered the 3 tone sunburst. After I got to see it in the flesh, I love the way it looks - there's not really any sloppy finishing, it's all really nice and well made. beautiful finish My only complaint about this guitar is that the action is a little too low. I get a little bit of fret buzz, and I'm one of those people that refuses to adjust the neck, because I admit I don't know what I'm doing. It's not a problem though, Long and McQuade offers a free set up within a year of the purchase, So I'm going to get that done ASAP. Sounds great, feels great, looks great. great price for this beast.

loosen the three screws, bring the neck back running true, tighten the screws, 30 second procedure. why would you put something so silly in a review?

Well, I was interested in this guitar for a few years & finally decided to buy it last Fall (2011) as L&M had a Fender 'No Interest' month, but when I called halfway through the month, the New Minas store advised me that there wasn't a single one in Sunburst in all of Canada! So, I mentioned that if they could get one in, if the promotion would still apply, but they stated it would not, if they happened to get one anytime within the next month... So, I said you can try to order me one & if it comes in I will buy it on my credit account with them. So long story short, I got a call the 30th of the month stating that it was in all the way from California, still new untouched in the box! Well needless to say, I drove the 2 & a half hours the very next day to get it, & they honoured the No interest promo for me... I was very appreciative of their effort & service, & have returned to that store countless times over the years because of that service, even though I live so far away. And as far as the guitar itself goes, the neck was straight as an arrow with no setup needed & no technical issues. In fact, over a year later, I am still using the factory strings, which are holding up perfect. Thanks to both Fender & L&M.

So, you bought the guitar second hand from EBay, and you got one with a slightly crooked neck. Then you post a critique based on the slightly crooked neck. I could take you seriously if you bought it from the dealer and the resulting customer service, but this??? Nope.

welp i bought this a while ago from Ebay because it wasnt too bad of a deal to pass up. and really it wasnt too bad. trying it through the amp it had a really nice a Crisp filtered sound (like a good beer) which is just great for alternative rock, and its really responsive Id love to try it through a decent tube amp and running it through an old Ibanez Tube screamer TS10 is a must. I guess i had to get harsh about the neck. even though its a comfortable neck they really shouldnt have went with a 3 bolt neck pattern. its either that or they made the neck pocket crooked because it seems the low E starts to drift closer towards the middle of the fret board as you go up the neck whereas the High E gets closer to the edge of the fret board which isnt a problem if you want to spend all your time soloing anywhere before the 12 fret but if you slip past 14 its not fun to adjust your playing so the e string doesnt slide off the edge of the fret and off the fret board since its pretty much directly over the beveled edge of the fretwire. i guess its a common issue with MIM strats, great sound but slightly crooked necks, either that or me and 2 of my friends that have MIM standard strats had the bad luck of the draw but still im not sorry i bought this guitar and in the future ill probably get someone to shim the neck to true it up with the pocket. well worth trying one out in the store
