I want this guitar to charm me, but after 9 months, things are going in the other direction. Instead of coming alive with playing it seems to be getting deader. Fretted notes decay too fast; no overtones & lack of resonance. It's humidified and gets new strings. Old Samick at 1/6th the cost plays & sounds better. Posted by Disappointed on Feb 6, 2013

The 814ce will give Martin, and Gibson, a good run for the money. The Tones are excellent for great Low End, Mid's and high end as well. I would highly recommend this Model 814ce to anyone looking for quality at a low price. Posted by Ernie on Nov 4, 2012

I was shopping for a great acoustic for at least 10 years. Bought many in that time, looking for that perfect guitar. Played this one, fell in love with it. Knew right away this was the one for me. Solid instrument, neck is smooth and easy to play, just feels perfect. I gave it a 9 in value only because of the price, it's a little high, but, if you buy this guitar, you will not be disappointed and you'll realize that it's worth every penny. It's a keeper for me. I almost settled for a 714ce with a western red cedar b/s until I tried the 814ce with the rosewood b/s and sitka spruce top. Yummy! What a beautiful sounding piece of wood and steel.
