I was in the market for a Les Paul for awhile before my friend Wallen showed me an ad for this one he had seen on the internet , so I went to the Sydney L&M and seen and played the one they had in the store , I absolutely loved it and knew right away this was the exact Les Paul I was looking for. Unfortunately I wasn’t ready to buy it that day , 3 or 4 days later when I was ready to make the purchase .. they had sold the guitar ! And to make matters worst they didn’t have any other ones there. So they said they would try and track one down for me at another nearby L&M , but unfortunately there was none in the maritimes at all , they ended up finding me one in Ontario I believe and got it shipped to Sydney where I finally picked it up a couple of weeks later , and was I ever grateful they did find me one! Amazing Les Paul , plays like a Les Paul should .. feels and sounds amazing , and an absolute piece of guitar eye candy to boot ! Beautiful guitar. Excellent recreation of the late 50’s bursts ! Great job Gibson !!!

Gibson produces these guitars as Long and Mcquade exclusives only, and limited in number. This is a back to basics Les Paul - no robot tuners, no PCB board, no push/pull pots....it’s everything a Les Paul should be and nothing more. The 50s neck is in between a 60’s and large Historic ones, 57 Classic pups and an amazing satin honeyburst NITRO finish. Top notch build quality, impeccable fret work. Tremendous service from L&M Burlington as always!

i saw this ‘19 Lp standard showed by my good friend at L&M North Winnipeg Mike Vidal.. He told me the story behind it, tested it that day and brought it home with me..Tone and tuning stability is very good, got it fresh from the box it was set up properly, never done anything yet but used it few times on rehearsal and a small gig. Quality wise i’m happy with it, i prefer fatter neck so i picked this over the classic and price wise is a winner.. Gibson put the same way they did before tone and volume control which i prefer not push or pull pots etc. I may check the pick ups once i’m going to change strings on it. But as of now it stays the same the day i picked up.

In 2013 I bought my last Gibson.. it was a sg standard The quality was so terrible i said i would not buy another. And i didnt. Then i heard about jc taking over as CEO. He made some subtle, but great Improvemtns in the factory for quality control purposes. So I went out on a whim and bought one of these 2019 l&m limited run standards. All I can say is, it has no flaws, amazing feeling finish all over, nice neck, not too big and not too thin Overall one of the best gibsons I have played to date. And for only $2200! My only complaint is, when I buy new guitars I tend to take them apart to scope out the quality all over. And too my surprise when I removed the pickups The baseplate said Gibson burst bucker pros..not 57 classics Which was a bit of a disappointment for me. Those being one of the major reasons I bought it to begin with. So I suggest everyone take a peak at your pickups. See if they are actually 57s.

Full confession here, after decades of buying/playing/selling/trading, I actually stopped buying Gibson's after 2015. Sky high pricing, thin necks on everything, lousy workmanship as a norm, and more push-pull auto tune do-dads than a fully loaded Cadillac. I happened to check this model out at L&M's April Gibson month and my jaw dropped. Amazing price for a Standard, none of the typical Gibson flaws, no circuit board or push-pulls. Just a plain old fashioned Les Paul Standard with a pair of '57 Classics. Lovely flamed top even though it is satin. I just couldn't believe it. After 2015 I honestly thought that was it for Gibson, no hope. I stand corrected and give it well earned 5's across the board. Plays and sounds absolutely wonderful and up to the level of quality that an instrument in this price category should be. I tip my hat to the new Gibson management, well done!

I was lucky to get a hold of one of these beauties! In my opinion, Unbelievable price and sound for a Standard model. I personally prefer the satin finish over the high gloss models. I’m so fortunate to have had such a great service from the team at L&M Laval and now I own a nice piece of Gison history. Thanks again Biagio!

What an awesome opportunity i had to pick up a Gibson LP Standard at a no brainer price ! I was fortunate to get a hold of one of these limited run Standards and hold a piece of Gibson history. I personally prefer the faded, low gloss finish over the traditional highly buffed ones, but tastes are tastes... I could not be happier with the service I got from L&M Laval, Biagio and all the team which went all out to locate the perfect guitar for me. Thank you ! If you come across this rare item, grab it !

it may look like a tribute, a limited run made only for L&M across Canada L&M spec'd the guitar itself made it more affordable Gibson Les Paul Standard. Tone wise and feel it's very well made guitar. Maybe next year L&M will do same thing as they were successful on this run. Michael Vidal of L&M Winnipeg North always the guy you wanna deal with. Mel

I was looking for a used LP Standard for months. I am so glad I saw this and made it my first quality electric purchase. This thing is amazing. Had to do some light adjustments on neck and intonation but stays in tune now with no buzzing. Thanks L and M Sydney.

A Les Paul Standard for $2200 CAD is a crazy deal to pass up. Buy one while you can, they won't last long. Limited run. Resonant, but not crazy heavy. Not a flaw on it. Subtle flame in the top. 2 piece body. Looks lighter in colour in person compared to the picture above Hard case (brown/purple), not a soft case as per the description. Satin finish neck is smooth. It's not a 60s slim or assymetrical taper neck, but also not 50s big. For $1500-$2k less than other '19 standards, you can certainly live without the push/pull pots. Also got a nice gibson hoodie with it as part of Gibson month.

Beautiful and well made LP! Satin finish is near perfect, one small blemish between the pickups (probably a hair in the spray booth). Set up perfectly, no buzzes, great harmonics, intonation is accurate. Hand-wired electronics, smooth taper on the pots, no coil tapping or phase inversion. Very comfortable neck, scraped binding on the fret edges makes a huge difference. Compared it to a 2019 LP Trad w/ burstbuckers, and the satin nitro finish and 57 classic pickups on this guitar won the day. Looks and plays like a modern interpretation of a classic '58 LP.

Nothing beats a genuine Gibson Les Paul for looks, feel and sound. In my opinion, this is the best Les Paul for the money without going to a Custom Shop model. The pickups are warm and responsive while the satiny 50s neck is comfortable and natural... and the looks are just dead-sexy (I think my wife is jealous). I carefully inspected every inch of this guitar before buying it and I must say that Gibson has stepped up their QA with this model. The included hard-shell case is a real plus. This guitar is the "real deal" and the folks at the Victoria L&M are just fabulous. Only things I don't like is the tektoid nut (which i am replacing with a Tusq XL for ten bucks) and the guitar needs a proper setup (which L&M will do for free when I bring it in again). This is the first new guitar I've brought in 40 years! Grab one while you can.

If you missed out on getting one of these, then you truly missed out...This is one of the nicest playing and sounding guitars I've ever owned. I'm super picky and I cannot find one thing wrong with it. Just a dream come true.

This guitar sounds and feels great. No coil tapping foolishness or any other new fangled nonsense. It's heavy and It should be as all real Les Paul's are. The only gripe I have is that the binding on the neck is painted on! C'mon Gibson! It looks like a two year old painted it on! I expected more for $2200. Cosmetics aside, this thing rocks hard. It plays itself and the 57's are mesmerizing!

Everything a Les Paul should be and nothing it shouldn't. Classic looks and tone, sustain for days and at a price that can't be beat. Oh, and that satin neck is as smooth as could be :)

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.

Great Additions
