I've owned two of this model. The sound quality resonates amazingly throughout any room and outdoors they sound even better. The design and appearance are both beautiful and strong. Meinl has great craftsmanship and I recommend this drum to anyone who pays attention to detail in design while enjoying great sound quality.

If you're on the fence about buying a doumbek, consider the decorative value as much as the sound. The engraving on this is stunning in sunlight. The copper also provides such a rich, almost bell like tone. Tuning key helps dial in the desired sound easily with eight bolts. Good drum for the price! Think of how many pennies...
