Studio One is a new, integrated approach to recording music, from tracking to mixing to mastering and distribution. It's a creative environment built for intuitive use, speed, and efficiency and yet it's robust enough for the most complex productions.

Two years ago, Presonus launched Studio One with the promise that artists of all levels, from beginner to seasoned professional, would find Studio One a serious alternative to the intimidating, bloated offerings currently considered the standards. Since then, Studio One has won multiple prestigious awards, reviewers have praised it to the skies, the Studio One forum has been buzzing with ideas, and musicians, producers, and engineers have flocked to its amazing new DAW in large numbers.

The reasons are simple: Studio One lets them work quickly and efficiently and delivers the features they need and the impeccable audio quality they demand. When you can work faster, more creatively, and more effortlessly, making music is even more fun.

Presonus has applied decades of collective software and hardware experience to bring the DAW back to the musician and producer. After years of development by some of the world's finest programmers, followed by two years of free updates to Studio One 1.x, Presonus is proud to offer Studio One Artist 2, Studio One Producer 2, and Studio One Professional 2.

Studio One employs a state-of-the-art audio engine that delivers incredibly clear, accurate sound. Studio One Professional features a 64-bit floating-point version of this audio engine that automatically switches between 64- and 32-bit operation on the fly to accommodate 32-bit plug-ins. This means you always get the highest possible sound quality and blazing speed. Studio One Artist and Studio One Producer feature the same audio engine but it always operates in 32-bit mode.

Studio One is compatible with any ASIO-, Windows Audio-, or Core Audio-compliant audio interface, including, of course, the entire line of PreSonus interfaces.

For starters i bought the 1818VSL audio interface which comes with Studio one artist.I was using Logic Pro 9 and Protools 9 then 10...As is got more and more into the features of Studio one i realized the simplicity and the great features of this powerful DAW.I wanted to do Editing and Mastering so i Upgraded to the pro version, im very happy i did i actually sold my copies of Protools as i was tired of the upgrading glitches and lack of support regarding the upgradesand im getting amazing results with Studio one its now my main DAW..I also use the Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2 mixer and havent had one glitch ever....this Daw is very forgiving and user friendly for new home recording enthusists .Lots of tutorial info on Utube also ..Give it a try you wont be disappointed, one more note i recommend the presonus interfaces with the VSL its offers more features as you learn and grow with the software. Im Running Mac I7 CPU and 16 gig with SSD.

Started out using Acid Pro, Nuendo, Cubase 4, Cakewalk x1 producer all with a M-Audio Fast Track Pro. Needed a new audio interface so did my research and came across Presonus Audiobox 44vsl. Read great thing about it so purchased it. Studio One Artist came in the box so I tried it and was sold from the get go. Could use my 3rd party but had unlimited tracks unlike most water down DAWS. Purchased the Pro. version for the Mastering tool and I am totally, 100% sold and have been using it since December 2011. Love it. Try it out and you will love it too.

I used Cubase from the time it was a midi only. In 2007 I went Mac and got into using Logic. They are both great DAWs and have their strengths and weaknesses but Studio One 2 is really forward thinking. Great support and the workflow is unmatched. It took me literally a couple of hours to get familiar enough with this DAW to decide I was going to stick with it. They are always adding new features and they don't gouge you when they do.

I had been using Sony Acid Pro 7 for years. Seems the company has decided to let the product go and not develop it. I was looking around for something that felt semi-familiar to Acid Pro as Acid has great tool functionality, but something that was 2012 and something I could get my head wrapped around with 64x compatibility. A couple of guys mentioned Presonus in the forums. I looked it up and downloaded the Demo. After messing around in it briefly I could tell that it was going to be the platform for me. I pulled up my task manager and as I am running a quad core all cores were running stable. It imported my 3rd party plugin's seamlessly. Very happy with this DAW. Check it out!

Presonus Studio One may lack some of the features of Steinberg's Cuuabse, such as the legato function, but when it comes to stabi8lity, ease of use, solid wor4kflow, you can't find better, in my book. I've still got Cubase (Studio 5)on my system, but, lasst time I rtired to use it, it wouldn't let me render, saying I was CPU overloading...and only two vsti plugins. Cubase always freezes, crashes often, but Studio One...nope, so I've been using it more than ever. Also great is the fact that you can master in the same program, so now, gone are Sound forge and CD Architect, from Sony. I mean, those are apt programs...but so mmmuch more convenient to do it all in Studio ONe...Red Book format supported...and sup[erb results. This is a great program and, for the price, you'd be hard pressed to find anything that offers so much, albeit, a few (minor) features missing. Did I mention it supports Celemony Melodyne natively? A great DAW.
