The more I play this guitar, the less I play my strat. the only issue I have is minor but with a bit more attention, it could be perfect. The fit and finish needs a bit more attention. The pick guard has godin carved into it and it's very rough.. Needed to be smoothed out. The set up was great. It has a fantastic whammy set up. This thing rocks. The splitter for the Seymour Duncan works so well... makes this a very versatile guitar for a great price. One of my favorites in the collection. If your looking for a strat style guitar with more features than a fender.... Try this out...

I am blown away by this guitar. The fit, finish and quality is stunning and I would put this up against any Fender product without hesitation. The neck and setup is perfect and the stock pickups sounds excellent....no need to swap these out! If you are looking for a Strat style guitar have not tried one of these guitars yet I humbly suggest that you do before buying anything else....simply amazing value well done Godin!

I had a National Les Paul copy that I had for almost 40 years. I never thought that any new guitar could sound better or play better. I was wrong. This baby is great. Looks great , sounds great and just feels right. No need to spend to spend $2000.00 on a "real strat".

I would have to be declared *legally insane (!)* if I ever buy a Yankee designed & made in (wherever) Strat type guitar. This ax is just insane and cost next to nothing considering that it is Made in Canada (assembled in New Hampshire, USA), 100% out of native Canadian woods. If you want to have a Strat & LP like sounds coming out of one instrument, this is it. Just go to your nearest L&McQ store and try one. I play this one for nearly a year now, own three other Godins: Multiac Encore, 5th Avenue Kingpin II and 5th Avenue Jazz (with Godin's own mini humbucker at the neck). All of them are top notch in their own class for a fraction of the price of those "unmentionable", overpriced and overrated, Yankee designed & made who knows where guitars.

My first true love was a 1991 American Stratocaster and I mistakenly let her go but I have been reunited with her for less then I paid 25 years ago. The maple neck feels and plays just like my Stratocaster did. For less than a mim you can get a Godin that is as good as a mia strat. Just give one a try, you won't be disappointed .

You'll save yourself at least $800 for starters. Last month I bought a Godin Session. I suspect I could easily rationalize buying another. Godin Sessions are easily the equal of any Stratocaster you wish to put 'em up against. Their build quality is both consistent & superb. Insanely fast & comfy 12" radius necks,... beautiful balance - all the tonal qualities you'd expect from a Strat + a coil-tapped bridge HB (the 2 SC pickups are also reverse wound to cancel hum when combined.) It can quack, it can bite, it can scream It can be both sparkly or mellow, & the tremolo can take a beating & stay in tune. It sounds great clean,... it sounds just as nice overdriven, & it's got an insane amount of sustain. It can give you that signature neck & middle SRV strat tone,... it can also provide that Gary Moore bridge HB tone (no mush & with plenty of top end when needed.) It can also sounds superb & Clapton-like with the tone rolled off. Godin makes their instruments for musicians, not as overpriced collectibles to gather dust hanging on a wall. It's a Strat-Killer.

I was looking to buy a strat and saw this hanging and tried it. Literally heads turned when I started playing it. Very sweet tone to this axe. Very versatile and can be used for a range of music. I ended up getting this and a Katana amp for the price of the Strat.

Was looking for a used Fender Strat. My godin Session was recommended in the store - sounded good. When I got it home and plugged into my amp I found the rich sound amazing. Absolutely better than expected!

This is my third Godin Session. I had two others that were traded for other things a while back, but I do have a definite keeper now. It has a natural finish though. Of the three I've had, this particular one has the better quality overall. I don't think you can find a better deal out there for a North American electric guitar. It is very versatile, and can be used for just about all sorts of music, metal excluded I think. I play pretty much instrumentals on mine, but it can rock with the best of them. After more than 45 years of playing in bands I can safely say that this guitar can hang with the best of them. The only thing I might do is to swap out the pickups...I don't particularly care for ceramic ones. But that is a personal choice. There is nothing wrong with the sound of this guitar, I just happen to be more discriminate after all these years and know what I like. Overall a fantastic guitar for the price.

I once owned an American Strat which I bought in 1998. I cost $1050.00. I was a beautiful guitar with all the bells and whistles that were offered at the time. It also came with a molded hard-shell case. I had to sell it back in 2005. Since then I've always thought that the American Strat was one of the best guitars for my style of playing. I recently decided to look into buying another one. I found the prices were way to high for my budget. So I looked for an alternate. I didn't want anything that wasn't made in North America. Then Godin came to mind. I decided to buy a Session. Once I got home I changed the strings with Elixers Opitiweb. Once the strings were stretched, WOW!:-) The tone of the guitar is absolutely beautiful. I can actually hear the same sound that I use to get from my American Strat. It stays in tune amazingly well through lots of string stretching and use of the whammy bar. It comes with a well made Godin soft case. So if you are going on the road you will need to put out another hun. It doesn't have the embellishments that my Strat had but it has all the important parts: play-ability with a rich tone. And for the money, you won't find a better deal that you won't regret!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
