I needed an amp that I could quickly setup and put away before and after practice or if I happen to need a monitor. For 40 watts I was very impressed! It does exactly what I need it to do. Very impressed with the tone, nice and smooth on the low end as well as very nice tones on the high end also found it's very articulate. All around a very nice sounding amp. Still can't believe how light it is! Have a Jazz fretless and a P bass and both basses sound amazing through it. All in all well worth the money. L&M's flexible payment plans makes it way to easy to walk home with it! About 75% of my gear is from L&M for this simple reason and wouldn't have near the gear if it wasn't for them. Special shoutout to the Filipino gentleman who served me at Pembina. very helpful and professional and made me feel very welcome!

This is a great amp for it's intended purpose, which is a small practice amp that can be used for small coffee shop gigs to back an acoustic guitar player, however I purchased it to record with. The DI has a good tone to it, but I was interested in mic'ing it. It fell flat in the recording dept in my opinion. I already own a vintage 70's bass amp with a 15 inch driver that produces great low end, so I will stick with that. Highly recommended for bedroom players.

So far I think I've put just about every type of guitar, except for a bass guitar, through this amp and its sounded great with all of them. With the addition of a reverb pedal you can get some great rock guitar tones out of it, with my archtop I can get some pretty sweet jazz tones, and best of all it actually sounds great with an acoustic guitar. It tames the Piezo harshness nicely and produces a nice full sound rather than the horrible shrill treble sound that allot of acoustic guitar gear seems to be voiced to produce. I think you could run just about anything you want through this thing and make it sound good, very handy little amp to have around.

As a drummer of 30+ years (crumbs!) I picked up the bass around 12 months ago now. My great sounding practice amp sounded like a wet fart when turned up +4 and I wanted a larger amp to meet my increasing playing requirements. Bigger is better (right) so I was targeting the rumble 100. I thought the 12" speaker would be better and if I did any gigging then I'd be covered. However, I went for the Rumble 40. I'm glad I did. This amp delivers everything I wanted and imagined in my head it needed to do, and more. I love that deep bass sound. I can turn this amp up to full and it will not distort. I can't believe it. I don't actually need that (nor do the nieghbours!) but wow! The 10" speaker is fantastic at ultra low volume too, which is good for when the kids are in bed. The unit is light, sturdy and you could easily play along with those noisy drummers and guitarists no problem. I don't need the effects for now, but the bright, contour, vintage and over drive options are good to have. I'm delighted it has an XLR output for home recording which is why I got this amp! Great Price, Great service and bravo to Claire and to John on the Front Line of the Burlington branch during these lockdown days. Sterling job team.

This amp is good value and the weight really sells you in store. A preamp will help achieve richer tones; but there is no efx loop in/out like the Rumble100 so I can not completely bypass the fender eq.

God of thunder, the spell yer under...lol This amp is fantastic, great lows, nice highs, mid's are smooth. 4 band EQ plus Bright and Contour Button ;) Vintage button, not so good for me. Running 5 string Bass and Guitar through it. Both sound great. Very low noise and powerful. Grunge channel with its own volume is great for solo's. And rock and roll.....get one.

Super for home or a cafe setting. ULTRA Lightweight! No buzzes. Has a great range of sounds. The big surprise was putting a regular guitar through it!!! I put a reverb pedal in front of it and got a fantastic warm vintage sound with lots of fullness. Is this the modern version of a Bassman? You've got to hear it. For $cdn 300 it's a great deal.

I got this amplifier cause I needed something not to loud and heavy at my place to practice during the days we don't jam. What a pick!!! This little super lightweight amplifier sure pull out a good punch! I really like that vantage sound and it's cool they even have the overdrive option. You really can't go wrong with this one for that price ???

I like lighter amps-but sometimes you can compromise on sound if it's too light, but the Rumble series doesn't do that--nice boomy bass, with clear controls to give you some good variety in what you can do with the sound. Most amps now have headphone & aux in jacks--this one does as well--both can be handy. So light amp, good bassy tone, options to shape the tone--I like all that. If you need more watts, the higher watt versions are still light, have all the same features, and some other features as well.

For the record I have played bass for over 30 years and owned tons of expensive amps and combos (Mesa, MicroMark etc) but I would highly recommend this combo for anyone beginner or pro. First off it's got a great retro Fender look with the silver grille cloth, logo and the knobs from the Supersonic. The controls are easy to read and use with tons of tonal options including an overdrive and few neat switches - bright, contour and my fav vintage. 40 watts and a 10 inch speaker give this little guy plenty of punch with deep lows and surprising highs considering there is no horn or tweeter. Has an xlr line out for plugging into a PA or your DAW. Headphone and aux input let you play in silence or to your MP3 player. This is a perfect practice/recording amp especially if you live in an apt but still has plenty of volume if you are playing with others. Grab it and go! It's so lightweight you can pick it up with a finger! The only thing I wish it had was effects send/return like it's bigger brothers but it works well with pedals. For straight up bass sounds you can't beat it for the price! Nice work Fender!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
