An micro-fine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound . EXP strings have a natural round wound feel and extra-bright tone that lasts three to four times longer than traditional bass strings.

I have to give these a big thumbs up. Baby Dove has tried to buy me an acoustic bass for decades and I've said "No" to them all. When she saw the Ibanez Exotic Wood at L&M, ($$EEK!) she bought it anyway. (It was just too pretty). Luckily, for me, it plays and sounds better than I would have given it credit. I had Optima Unique Studio strings on it for years but the D went "Fuzzy". I put on a set of DR" Black Beauties" but they work better on the PJ's. These are simply fantastic through the preamp. Tops, they are at a fraction of the price of the strings replaced. Now I wonder if I should put some on the Godin A4.
