Easy to Use
The PRO-1 is a dreadnought style acoustic guitar with a classic profile known for incredible volume and tonal range. While traditional-sized dreadnoughts can be difficult for a new player to get used to, the PRO-1 has a reduced body depth, which makes it easy to hold for long hours of playing.
Another Epiphone innovation is the PRO-1s shorter scale neck with an EZ-Profile neck shape, which makes learning chords and licks easier. PRO-Ease Lubricant makes the neck feel smooth and worn in on your fingers, and JumboPRO frets make it easy to hold down Epiphones custom light gauge strings.
Hardware
A guitar that plays this easy has to be able to get in tune and stay in tune in a snap. The PRO-1 features Epiphones Deluxe tuners, which have 18:1 ratio tuning gears that help make finding the right pitch quick and intuitive. Ordinary tuners have only a 14:1 ratio, which makes fine tuning difficult as the string never quite settles in the right spot. But tuning is easy with the PRO-1s higher gear ratio which lets you adjust your tuning with greater precision so its easier to find the right pitch and stay there.
The PRO 1s new EZ-String Rosewood bridge doesnt use bridge pins which on other guitars are difficult to remove and difficult to get in place (not to mention easy to lose!). So changing a string and getting it in tune on the PRO-1 is fast and easy.

• Less fatigue. Wrap your hand around the PRO-1 Ultra neck and youll immediately feel how comfortable it is. Our new EZ-Profile neck is designed so your hand can easily form chords without feeling fatigued.
• Effortless Fretting. Epiphone JumboPRO frets make fretting notes and chords seem effortless. JumboPRO frets are taller and wider than smaller frets. So, when you push down a string, its easier to make string contact with the fret with less hand fatigue and finger friction.
• Shorter is Easier. Scale length is the distance from the saddle to the nut. The shorter the scale length, the looser the strings feel. Because the PRO-1s scale length is almost 1 shorter than most acoustic guitars, the strings are under less tension so you dont have to • press hard to get good tone. And since the frets are closer together-- making chords is easier!
• Make friction fiction. String and fingerboard friction not only slows your playing but also can hurt. Our PRO-Ease string and fingerboard coating provides sleek, smooth action with reduced string noise.
• No pain, no gain? NonsenseEpiphone believes in no pain. Lighter gauge strings are easier to play so every PRO-1 is set-up and equipped with Epiphone Ultra-Light strings.

action not that great right out of the box like the ads said but free set-up fixed that. Laminated top and sides means It's tough and I hang it on the wall all year while my other guitars are in cases with humidifiers. Sounds good, plays nicely, deep red gloss finish makes it look way more expensive than it is. Bought it at L&M Oshawa where I've been a satisfied customer for decades. Highly recommended for beginner or for the experienced player looking for a good knockabout.

spend a few hundred bucks more and get a way better guitar you'll want to keep for the long haul. If you are just starting out most music schools have rentals so try that first before you buy. All the staff at L&M can make a cheap guitar sound amazing - don't fall for that tactic!

Hello anyone who is reading, I have spent the past 2 months diligently searching online sources of instrument makers, (Guitars) players, and distributors looking for a guitar to make me do what didn't happen in the first
59 years of my life.
Be motivated enough to learn how to play some music on this 6 stringed piece of wood. Short story, 4 years ago cancer diagnosis, 4 years later still here. Solution, sell golf clubs, buy guitar. Can't go out and try, must trust providence and believe I will be looked after. In comes my phone call to
Long and McQuade, Then there is Wayne, I ask him about the Epiphone PRO-1 acoustic in Wine Red. He says the computer says available but checking for sure is the thing to do. Moments later he is back on the phone it's almost closing time and he behaves as if he just opened the door and I alone am the customer, very welcoming for sure.
That's Monday evening. Tuesday at approximately 1:00PM. Guitar is delivered allowance for delivery covered, and 5 Cat Tongue picks taped to my guitars box. with a lovely smiley face drawn on the tape. Guitar out of the box tuned, no dust, no streaks. Graph tech Nubone nut and bridge, intonation set nice and low for an acoustic, strings off the #1 fret 2.7mm top e, 2.8mm b, 2.9 g, 2.8mm d, 3.3mm a, 3.4mm bottom e.
Fit and finish very close to flawless. (I haven't found any yet) a video of my unboxing will be on my youtube. (kris McMillen) I' very pleased, thanks Wayne as a store mgr. you do L&M proud. hat's why 5 STARS.

I am not going to try to make anyone believe that this guitar is "just like a high end Gibson or Martin". However this is a very well made instrument with amazing playability and the sound is very impressive. The Pro-1 Acoustic has a very nice full sound with great projection that sustains forever, it's so inviting and comfortable to play I have a very hard time putting it down. There is tons of great music in this beauty (I wrote two new songs on the first day) and the neck is fantastic, you can play for hours without fatigue. The neck is actually my favorite feature, it plays like a great electric. You have to try this guitar.

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
- Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
- Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
- No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
- Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
- Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
- Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
- Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
- Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
- Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
- NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
- USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
- GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
- BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
