Initially I was not that all excited when I heard off the B&U collection. But as I started to try multiple cymbals at local L&Ms, I found I could use one of these in my collection.
L&M had this particular model on a clearance sale (25% off), so I jumped on it and purchases this. Note, that this model was one of the cymbals I was considering, the other being the king or monarch.
First impressions is that the cymbal has a short sustain, compared to the standard fully lathed counterparts. It has a dark tone complex as expected and its quiet cutting for a 'dry' type cymbal.
I found use for this cymbal for crash-riding accents as the sustain decays quiet quickly so it does not being overwhelming loud or obnoxious in the mix. I have yet to explore other uses for it, but I am overall satisfied with this ride.
