Amazing tone, weight/balance looks, and playability come together in this amazing "65" of a kind acoustic. The LR Baggs pickup is amazingly clear and natural which is rare as most factory-installed acoustic pickups seem to dampen the true tones/nuances/resonance of the guitar. It never sounds tinny or shallow. In brighter light, the flamed maple really comes through showcasing an already unique finish and the abalone inlays also set it apart from traditional white pearl. The neck seems to feel and play like a smaller 60s profile, very comfortable as many Gibson acoustics tend to have very chunky necks. Sustain and note articulation is very clear both acoustic and plugged in. Play it as loud or quiet as you like. The dynamics are top-notch. Chords sound amazing, great low end and shimmering highs. It stays in tune very well with neat looking Grover tuners with open backs. Very stable. Fit-to-finish is first-rate. No finish marring or orange peel, or bleed over binding. Frets are accurate and no sharp edges. You can instantly tell this is crafted with care, precision with quality materials. Intonation was only a few cents off before a proper setup. If you can find one, try it out. It's definitely far above a standard J45 (which is an already great guitar).

I walked in L&M's North York location dead set on getting a Taylor 414, or Martin, or even Larivee cut away acoustic. Then Paul from L&M recommended I try to J45 limited edition flamed maple. It was an instant WOW. It sounded so clear and articulate. You can feel the bass notes in your body, the mid-range was just so expressive and the high notes were crystal clear. The Larivee and Taylors sounded dull and uninspired compared to J45 Flamed Maple. The standard J45 was an impressive guitar but, even it couldn't match the head turning sound of the Flamed Maple model. If there are truly only 65 of these models made world-wide, I would highly recommend trying it out before they are gone. I walked out of L&M not getting what I initially wanted but, getting much more than I expected. This is a genuine jewel of an acoustic guitar. I bought it and only plan to give it up when I leave this world. Well done Gibson.
