these are pretty good headphones, they fit great for long periods of time due to the auto adjusting headband akg use on their headphones. the cable is replaceable which is a must for headphones of this price. the headphones are mostly plastic but feel durable enough. the sound is pretty good but Is definitely beat by other headphones at its msrp. that said if you need headphones at a low resistance and closed back you cant go wrong, especially for the sale price you can find these for. to summarize:
-decent at its price range
-a steal on sale
-low ohm so will run on most any device
-closed back so suitable for environments where sound isolation is required
-comfortable for long periods

I bought these headphones from L&M back in 2012 and they are still going strong. The headphones come with two cords, one straight and one curly, depending on your preference. They also come with two sets of ear pads. About a month ago I replaced the vinyl pads I had been using -- which had cracked over the years -- with the soft micro-fiber pads included in the box. It was like getting my favourite chair reupholstered. I love them now more than ever. I use the headphones for mixing instrumental music in Logic and they have a clarity that meets my needs. While I would like to upgrade many other pieces of equipment, I don’t feel the need to replace these reliable headphones anytime in the near future.

6 years and counting. Bought in 2008 and typing with them on as we speak. Took 6 years for the cable to fall apart finally. Easy replacement since they include a new one with purchase in the box. No other headphone maker on the market makes this quality caliber of headphones and heres why. The construction and build. No plastic in the headband. Only pure leather. Stretches, can't strain it; unlike certain brands mentioned above me. After 6 years of having the 271s falling on the ground, run over by chairs in the studio, and having the cables stepped on, run over, etc, they still work as if they were new. I still have no understanding why certain brands use plastic? Then again, I guess that's how you separate the professional from the amateur. I've gone through many other brands before going 271s, and will always represent them with positive acclaim. Here's hoping they release the mk3 soon!

I have had these headphones for a little over a year and a half now and they have been a terrific addition to the home studio. These headphones are a little pricey but they are definitely worth it. I use them for recording only. They are great for recording vocals because they produce a nice true sound so the artist can hear what's going on in the song. And the auto mute feature is really handy for vocal recording. Also it has a detachable cable and comes with a straight cable and curled cable. The ear pads are nice and comfy, a little bulky, but comfy.. I have seen people review these and compare them to the audio technica ath-m50s but i think that these headphones designed purpose is for recording or podcasting rather than mixing and mastering.
