I have owned a Mackie ProFX4V2 got two years and it works flawlessly. Due to an increase in band members I purchased the ProFX8v2 yesterday. Again, nice mixer but there are some very funky and disturbing sounds going on when you enable the FX channel. I can hear this using just headphones with nothing plugged into the board. I hope it is just a defective unit and not a design flaw in the 8 series. It?s going back to the store today!

I own this board and have since October of 2016. It has been set up in our heated practice space since... worked great until last night. Right channel output to speaker quit working. Long story short I called L&M 3 months outside of warranty... they will look at it for $75.00 an hour. Called the manufacturer 1 800 number, we did a trouble shoot over the phone. Confirmed the output section in the board is the issue but again 3 months past warranty so no dice. I can send it at my expense to a Depot in Winnipeg and wait god knows how long to find out how much it will cost to fix... take it for what it's worth.. I won't buy another mackie product.

I just got it yesterday. I was shocked at the size of the box L&M packed it in. This isn't a complaint as it was packed so well, the chances of it getting damaged while in transit were very slim. Also, it was at my door a day and a half from the time I put in my order. Kudos, L&M!!! I am using this mixer primarily for recording and from what my tests have shown me, it is perfect for doing so. Setup was seamless. I just plugged it into a USB port and I was ready to go. No drivers means that I will be using it for years, regardless of how many updates and changes are made to the OS. As usual, Mackie has built this mixer like a tank! The faders and pots feel like quality for something in this price class. Effects are so-so but I use an external effects unit so this isn't an issue for me. There is virtually no learning curve to start using this mixer. It took me around 5 minutes to figure what I want to do with it. All in all, you get a fantastic little mixer for the money!

I bought this for jam sessions and occasional duty at social functions. It works well for a few vocals, guitars and keyboard. The effects are good, as is the USB in. I haven't used the USB to record nor did I need to install a driver to get it to connect to the computer (Windows 10). The only caveat, like most small mixers, is that the channels are not all general purpose so you have to be aware of the features per channel and see if it is enough, given what you may already have, like DI boxes. The only minor negative I've found is that the sliders are smooth and solid while sliding but wobbly side to side if you just jiggle them.

A very good mixer but the support is not what I expected when I registered it, and wanted some updates to their software. It seemed at the time there was some conflicts with Behringer. But the mixer itself is good.
