Meet the DJM-S9, Pioneer's first two-channel battle mixer for Serato DJ. The fully customisable Magvel Pro crossfader, tactile performance pads and FX buttons let you tailor the mixer according to your preferences. So get ready to decimate the dance floor with personalized FX and rigorous scratch performances.

The DJM-S9 inherits its high-quality audio circuitry from Pioneer's flagship 4-channel digital mixer, the DJM-2000NXS. The power inlet is designed to reduce resistance and deliver the stable sound you need in loud club environments.

Main Features:

Magvel Fader Pro
The Magvel Fader Pro, magnetic crossfader ensures excellent operability, durability and response. Change the operational load using the Feeling Adjust dial and modify its Curve and Reverse configuration to suit your DJ style. On top it has shock-absorbing bumpers to reduce unnecessary rebounds.

Performance Pads
For dynamic live mixing, 16 multi-colour touch pads give access to Hot Cue, Roll, Slice, Loop and more. Their optimised shape and seat switch connections provide great accuracy and response, while the EL display instantly shows which mode is in play. In Serato DJ you can map other functions to the pads and allocate specific colours for an even stronger visual cue.

Customisable FX Buttons
Six customisable buttons on each side of the mixer, and two in the middle, trigger effects directly on your hardware. Fire up six dedicated Beat FX on the left banks, or replace them with other popular on-board FX. On the right, you can map your favourite Serato DJ FX and their parameters*. The OEL display puts the effect types and beat settings at your fingertips.
*Serato DJ offers up to 55 different FX (paid expansion pack needed)

Filter FX
A high/low pass filter on each channel lets you manipulate FX by simply rotating the knob. With Serato DJ you can switch to other filter FX like Dub Echo, Noise and Pitch.

Style Levers
The mixer has two large style levers that allow you to swiftly turn effects on and off. Give more dynamics to your sets by triggering FX briefly, locking them on, or exiting arrangements quickly.

Two USB Soundcards
Two USB soundcards make this the ultimate plug-and-play Serato DJ mixer. Play back-to-back with other DJs seamlessly using the input switcher on top to switch between all four Serato DJ decks. And if you prefer to play with CDJs or turntables, you can easily do so thanks to DVS support.

I bought this to use with Serato DJ and turntables. I have been DJing since 1999, so I've had my fair share of experience with many different types and brands of mixers. Pioneer have always been a good brand. I was sold on the fact that this was compact, Serato DJ ready and had on board effects that were triggered with the two way switch for quick tactile triggering of effects. I was also sold on the fact that many reputable DJs were turning away from Rane mixers to this one (never been a fan of the way Rane mixers feel. Small knobs, clicky faders, etc). I can't speak enough about this mixer. It's extremely well built. The layout of pads, knobs and switches is comfortable and very accessible. The faders are buttery. Love the tension adjustment on the cross fader. And as I said before, love the on board effects and the way they are triggered by the two way switch. Very responsive for some great control over effects that need immediate triggering, like vinyl break. The cue pads are very responsive love how they lights up. As well as functioning as slicer and roll buttons too . Also the cue section fader is a great touch and the browsing knob and buttons make touching the laptop not necessary at all. I will also add, while I am learning to scratch, I mainly use the mixer for house and techno blend mixing. It is very well suited for that type of DJing. And given most people use only two deck mixing then IMO there is no need for a 12" mixer. I recently paid for the upgrade the Rekordbox DVS and now I am most certain I will be keeping this mixer for a long time to come. Pioneer's DVS software is very good and less buggy than Serato I find. Paired with this mixer, it's a winning combination. Lastly, the price point is very reasonable if you ask me. A top tier pro battle mixer, with pristine sound and soundcard and the famous Pioneer on board effects and filters? It's a no brainier.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
