Absolutely great headphones. Awkward fitting them at first, but this ensures a good fit for optimum, sealed sound. Don't be afraid to experiment with different ways of putting them on These are VERY articulate. Mids sound absolutely incredible, Harsher frequencies around 12k sparkle, bass is tight with audible overtones, and everything seems to have a fresh quality. It made me want to listen to everything in my collection over again. Higher quality files such as FLAC files really shine. These are DJ/Studio headphones, But, They work great as portable headphones in my opinion: For someone who is used to Monster esque headphones, these will probably sound quite awkward; The mids will sound like something from another planet and the bass will not even sound like bass if it can even be heard. They won't blast your ears off with an Ipod seeing how they run at 70 ohms and require more power than an Ipod an provide to be fully driven. A portable headphone amp or Cowon mp3 player is what is necessary to drive these while on the go. Don't bother cranking your software pre-amp, it will turn your sound into mush. Amazing headphones! If one likes quality sound and detail in music, these are a must have. The one awkward thing is the short chord. It makes them seem like they are made for portable use oddly enough. Oh well! Cheers
