Inspired by the classic '70s Les Paul Artisan, the Epiphone Lee Malia Signature Les Paul Custom features a totally unique pickup combo of a Gibson P-94 in the rhythm position and a Gibson 84T-LMTM humbucker with coil tapping in the bridge position.

Lee Malia is the lead guitarist for Brit rock masters Bring Me The Horizon. Malia's incredible technique and melodic style can be heard on stages around the world on his new Limited Edition Epiphone Signature Les Paul Custom.

A Classic Remade for the 21st Century: The Lee Malia Les Paul Custom was inspired by the Les Paul Artisan, a now-rare 70s classic. The Lee Malia Les Paul Custom features a Walnut Gloss finish with a Maple top and a Mahogany body cut to the same dimensions of all classic Les Pauls. The body has 7-layer binding on the front and back in Ivory and Black. The black pickguard has 3-layer black and white binding.

Malia choose the Mahogany neck, which has a 1959 Rounded C-Profile shape with a 12" radius and a 24.75" scale. The Rosewood fingerboard has a 70s era "Artisan" floral pattern in pearloid with a single layer of Ivory binding. The Ivory nut is made from artificial bone material and has a standard 1.68" width. The "clipped ear" headstock is also familiar to all Les Paul fans and has the classic Epiphone scroll logo in pearloid with 5-layer binding in Ivory and Black. The headstock also has the vintage style Artisan floral pattern inlaid in pearloid with a black "bell" shaped truss rod cover in black and white with Les Paul Ltd. Ed. Custom in white. Lee Malia's signature is on the back of the headstock along with the Epiphone Limited Edition logo.

Gibson USA Pickups: For his signature Les Paul, Lee Malia choose a unique combination of Gibson pickups. The neck pickup features a Gibson USA P-94 single coil pickup (also a favorite of Mr. Les Paul himself). The bridge pickup features a hot-wound Gibson USA 84T-LMTM humbucker, which breaks up easily with any amp. The humbucker also features coil-tapping, which is activated via the bridge pickups push/pull volume control. Both pickups are controlled by a standard 3-way all-metal Epiphone white toggle switch with Black Tophat controls with metal inserts and volume and tone for each pickup.

"With the pickup configuration, you can pretty much do anything," said Malia. "With coil-tapping you can get the sound of any guitar you can imagine. It's really good if you're writing a clean section, too. You can also get a nice tone straight into a computer. You don't have to use an amp mod to get it to sound good. It's just a really nice guitar. Im so proud of it."

Classic Gold Epiphone Hardware: The limited edition Lee Malia Signature Les Paul Custom comes with Epiphone's world renowned hardware including a gold LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and gold Stopbar tailpiece. Other hardware features include Epiphones exclusive non-rotating heavy duty output jack, straplocks, and gold premium die-cast machine heads with metal "tulip" buttons with a 14:1 tuning ratio.

MY Les Paul Artisan is an Incredible Guitar on all levels. What I love most is: 1. The '59 C-Profile Neck. It allows me to play effortlessly ... I just can't stop playing it. 2. The Gorgeous Artisan Inlays. They appear to be "Mother-of-Pearl." They emit deep/brilliant colors like a Rainbow. Pearloid does not do that. This Guitar's playability and outstanding Beauty makes MY Guitar Les Paul Artisan ... Priceless ...!

MY Les Paul Artisan is incredibly perfect in every way. There are two (2) features about this Guitar that has truly commanded my attention: 1. The 1959 C-Profile Neck. This Neck demands that I play her forever. 2. The Gorgeous Inlays. They MUST be "Mother-of-Pearl." These Jewels cast out the most Incredibly Beautiful "Rainbow" Colors that I have ever laid my eyes on ...! You do not see these kinds of colors coming from Pearloid. With its outstanding "Playability" and unbelievable "Good Looks" ... MY Les Paul Artisan is ... Priceless ...!

I usually don't play super high gain stuff and bought this guitar mostly for the look and good reviews. It plays great. great sustain. mine is not at all heavy as one has mentioned. Played great out of the box but I tweaked a little. The pickups sound great but don't really suit what im going for but I can see many loving these pups. Great buy.

I recently purchased one of these from L&M in Downtown Edmonton. I love this thing. The neck feels fantastic, the fretwork is perfect and it is awesome to look at. However, the feature that puts this thing over the top for me is the pickups. I lean towards a heavier sound even when playing classic tunes. These pickups have the gain and the harmonic presence that I love, but they retain this amazing note clarity (never muddy). Also, on any other guitar I have ever played whenever I roll back the volume or tone knobs I always get that high end roll off and the tone gets darker as the sound cleans up and eventually fades away. When I roll back the knobs for this bridge pickup, the sound cleans up (like I am backing off the gain on my amp), but the tone still retains the highs and all that wicked harmonic structure to the sound! I think they made this pickup with magic. Further to that, the P-94 pickup in the neck is a great choice as well. I prefer the sound of this pickup in the neck position compared to the neck humbuckers in my other Les Pauls. Absolutely great guitar. This baby has replaced my Gibson Les Paul Classic as my go-to axe. Nice work Epiphone.

The inlays on the fretboard and headstock really caught my eye. It's the kind of stuff you don't expect to see on an Epiphone. Really pretty. The hardware all seems to be pretty solid and clean. The neck is straight and has a really full comfortable shape. The only thing I don't like about the construction is that the body is made up of at least six planks of mahogany, sandwiched between two layers of maple. I love the maple on the top and back, but a 1 or 2 piece mahogany body would have been a little classier. Having said that, I love a heavy Les Paul and this thing is a beast. No weight-relief here. Sustain for days, as they say. I would love to see this guitar come with a Bigsby but I know that's not Lee Malia's thing. The strange pickup selection really gives this guitar a ton of mojo! The range of sounds between the P-94 and the split humbucker is awesome. She'll go from a Fender-esque coil tapped tone all the way up to a roaring wall of sound just begging for some fuzz. Really fun to play and it carries a total 70's vibe. The price is fair but really should include a case.

Seen This guitar on the internet and really wanted it, was made for the European and Asian markets. Some came back to Canada and that's how i ended up with mine. The Guitar has received so much attention and praise they made them for everyone else after. Initially it was the classic good looks that drew me to it. It was the pickups however that made me buy it. A really nice Gibson P94 in the neck is great, but the killer is the Bridge pickup. The 84T LM is based on the 84t that Gibson made for EVH for his Kramer guitar. This pickup sounds great clean but it shines when overdriven. It has amazing clarity when you have alot of high gain; you can hear every note. All in all a very nice guitar well worth its price.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
