Built-in Engine Software
What is Engine? Engine is the exclusive revolutionary DJ software under the hood of the MCX8000 that enables you to perform without a laptop. This amazing software brings you front and center to play your sets with the ability to just use a thumb drive with Engine. Engine 1.5 software has many advantages once installed on your PC/Mac to create your playlists/crates, set cue points and analyze your entire library.

Serato DJ Ready
You have the advantage of having the best of both worlds, since the MCX8000 is compatible with the latest Serato DJ software and enables you to use 4-channels. There is also a DVS upgrade package, giving the MCX8000 unlimited possibilities.

Hand-Off With Ease
Transition between two DJs with ease! There are no interruptions between sets as Engine software enables the DJ to either plug into the MCX8000 via USB or Serato DJ while in sync with the vibe. There are two USB ports for flash drives and around the back of the MCX8000 there is a powered USB port for external hard drive used with Serato DJ.

Sound and Effects Matters
Built with onboard sound effects and a 24-bit pristine sound, the MCX8000 delivers a high-quality controller with XLR outputs for both the DJ booth and PA system. To top off the amazing sound, there are three sound effects built in: delay, echo and noise.

Although not the simple plug and play right out of the box kinda deal, you have to put time into learning the deck. I always love Denon, however, the screen in Serato freezes up having the music still playing until you turn off and back on. The mirror layout seems to be the norm nowadays. The pads are nice but the start and stop buttons are kinda plastic so not sure why they did that this time around. The Denon 8000 is a metal standalone controller which is nicer and has a lower profile than most controllers. Pad colours are very vibrant as others tend to be much dimmer. Love the fact its a standalone mixer as well. You switch back and forth from laptop to controller.

Got this controller at the end of 2016 around the same time as the MacBook I used with it. It worked pretty good out of the gate but after about a year I started having minor connection issues. This got worse over time and eventually certain features (CUE 1&2, FX buttons, display screens) stopped working properly. Called and emailed Denon a few times with no response. May just be a bad unit but seeing all the positive reviews I felt obligated to share!

This all in one is awesome. Standalone is how I use it and I love it. You will not be disappointed. It’s been about 12 gigs now and I have not had a problem since. Cheers!

Denon DJ really had some cool ideas for this controller but still needs some work. My advice, If your buying this as a Serato controller, you will be very impressed with what this thing gives you, Dual USB is a nice touch, as well as the screens, and the DVS in's. Simply an upgrade from the Mc7000. very good (however the screen is much like a Screen found on Numark controllers, it has very high contrast, and I was not a huge fan...) >Excellent Serato controller!! HOWEVER, if you are buying this beast as a Standalone unit, you will be very disappointed, just as I was. The built-in software is a hunk of Junk, lacks many basic features, and for me froze up quite frequently. Engine Prime is still in Early development stages, but definitely needs some work... Definitely not a controller you would want to bring to a gig, without a laptop... A couple of other things, Being it is the first of its kind, definitely room for Quality improvement, LED's are a bit on the bright side, and I could see a noticeable and quite distracting Flicker Because of Direct AC power at the corner of my eye. Knobs and faders feel kinda cheap, altho they are all coated with Rubber... For all these reasons, I ended up Returning it befor my 30 days was up, and replaced it with a Pioneer DDJ SX3 controller which is a whole nother story....

this is one of the best controllers I have ever used. The Engine software works better on a Mac, this controller is basically a numark and pioneer put together, thinner than the new Roland. MCX8000 and the MC7000 - 2 of the top controllers out right now, you wont be dissapointed, I tried them all. - Denon outsmarted them all...

I have owned and used all of the top controllers and most of the entry level as well. The MCX 8000 by far leads them all. Mostly because you can use it without a lap top. The built in engine system operates just like serato without as many features by ready your music off of a usb stick. Solid build and performance.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
