Kuddos to Luke at Long & Mcquade south. I've been eye balling one for months now, 98% of the reviews were over the top. I walked in, picked up the only one in the store, It was dusty, old strings and didn't look great, but I thought, if I buy this, I'll get a set up, new strings and maybe a polish? Luke asked me if I needed assistance. Told him my issues and he quickly, told me he could set it up there and then. 20 minutes later, it looked really nice. I tested it on a nice little Fishman amp and bam, I loved it and bought it. 24 hours later, I haven't stopped playing it. I have played high end SG, Les Paul's, PRS etc....I'm not kidding, this thing hold the bar to any of these. It's awesome! Thanks Luke for the great service and set up.

After playing this guitar several times at the music store and comparing it to MIM and American Tele's, I had to get over myself of what was written on the head stock and i bought it for the incredible sound and play ability and value.Been at this game a long time in weekend bands performing country and classic rock on stage and still finding it hard to believe that i bought this beauty for $600.00. Feeling guilty how my go to guitar a Fender Strat Plus with Fender lace sensors is spending so much time alone hanging on the wall in my recording studio. If your on the fence of buying one, do it, you will not be sorry.

After reading/watching every review on this little wonder machine I have to say that it gets the same stellar review from me. If you can get over the name and its stigma you will not be disappointed in your purchase, it sounds and plays like its more expensive brethren. You can now spend some money elsewhere and be happy about it.

Had been eyeballing this guitar for about a year and it always felt great in the store, even compared to some of the MIM fenders and whatnot. At the moment I own 7 Squiers including a bass and decided to take a chance on a Chinese Fender Mustang Modern Player just for the sole reason of adding a Fender into the mix. IMMEDIATELY BUMMED OUT as it turned out to be a real dud and had heard ok things about it. I took it back immediately and got this Tele instead and what a difference. SQUIERS ARE GREAT. Don't be fooled by the name on the headstock. If you want a decent Fender you have to pay the big bucks for it and I am only 14 so "F' that!!!

You're right about the photo not doing it justice but that's a problem caused by shooting it against a white backdrop. They show better when photographed against a dark background.I have one of these guitars and am very happy with it, BTW.

FYI, The stock picture of this CV Telecaster Guitar, that L&M has posted/associated with this item info is not the correct guitar image. L&M should correct this. The white double binding on the body is missing from the sample image. I would recommend you visit the Fender.com site to get a better visual representation of this gorgeous instrument. L&M stock photo does not do the actual guitar and justice.

Recently bought this CV telecaster in sunburst finish with white binding. Wow...it is every bit as playable as my butterscotch American made 52 reissue.

I bought this model used (demo?) from L&M about a month ago for a user-friendly price and I agree with almost everyone who has reviewed it. It is very good value-a solid great-sounding guitar.

I own many guitars including high end fenders. I thought I would give the Squier Classic vibe series a try just because of all the great reviews they were getting. It seemed to good to be true. After two years of using this guitar, I haven't put it down. I just took my american deluxe out of the case recently just so I wouldn't feel bad after not using it for such a long time. I honesty still cannot get over how nice this 60's Classic vibe is. Rounded fretboard edges, bound body, slim 60's neck and good electronics. Every time I go to play one of my guitars I always feel guilty for a minute after I bypass my fenders and pick up the Squier. It's a great guitar!!! If your thinking about a tele, this is the one to get! Even if you can afford to buy a more expensive telecaster. I would buy this instead of a Mexican, any day!! It keeps up with the American tele's and in some cases are just as good as them if not better. I have always owned Fender and still cannot get over the quilty of these Classic vibe series guitars. I went out and bought the classic vibe 50's tele last year, another great guitar but I like this 60's tele better. One change I made was that I bought actual Fender 62' custom bridge and neck pickups and put them in the guitar. I bought the pickups before I bought the guitar because I wanted to create a 1962 telecaster without having to spend $2500 on one. When I got the guitar I found that the stock pickups sounded great! But I replaced them just because I already bought the pickups. This is by far one of the best telecasters that I have ever played.

I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NEW TO PUT MY HANDS ON SO TO SPEAK. I WAS WATCHING AN OLD ED BICKERT JAZZ SESSION ON YOUTUBE, AND THERE IT WAS... FENDER TELECASTER! I HAD TO HAVE IT! I DID SOME READING AND RESEARCH ON THE SQUIRE LINE. AND THE REVIEWS WERE ALL POSITIVE ACROSS MANY, MANY, FORUMS. - SO, I WENT TO LONG & MCQUADES AND TRIED EVER SINGLE TELECASTER THEY HAD, INCLUDING THE AMERICAN MADES. THE 62 CLASSIC VIBE PLAYED AS WELL AS THE AMERICAN FENDERS, AND HAD THE SAME WEIGHT, FEEL, FIT & FINISH. THE TONAL QUALITIES OF THE SQUIRE WERE ON PAR WITH AN TELE I'VE PLAYED. I BOUGHT THE SQUIRE, AND DID A FEW MINOR TWEAKS TO THE SETUP (WHICH WAS ALMOST SPOT ON OUT OF THE BOX). I PUT SOME REGULAR GAUGE ELIXR'S ON HER, SET THE PICKUP HEIGHT AND HAVEN'T STOPPED PLAYING HER SINCE. I'M TOTALLY IGNORING MY PENSA SHUR AS THE CLASSIC VIBE IS JUST A STRONG, SOLID WELL CRAFTED GUITAR. PLEASE, DO YOURSELF A HUGH FAVOUR AND TRY ONE. 10 YEARS AGO I WOULD HAVE NEVER EVER CONSIDERED ONE, NOW... I WISH I HAD 5 OF THEM! CHEERS TO FENDER & SQUIRE FOR A FANTASTIC PRODUCT! BEST REGARDS - R.HEATH

It has the sound that I've been looking for in a country sound. However there are a couple of issues, namely a static sound as your finger touches the scratch plate and the screws in the bridge plate have a sharp edge that hook the palm of your hand - that's annoying. Overall I really like this guitar.

I wouldn't have believed it, but this guitar really holds it's own with big brother, Fender. Fit and finish are near perfect, frets are nicely finished, electronics are even pretty good. I bought this to upgrade and I left it as is. Pays and sounds like a Fender. Nice job!

I bought this guitar on a whim and 2 years later It is still my main guitar, I try vintage teles, American teles and custom shop teles and they always feel lackluster in comparison like they don't resonate as much as this Classic vibe... I play mostly stoner rock, blues rock and heavier rock and don't let single coils turn you away with the right setup this guitar rips! Highly recommended

I bought one a few years ago and tore it down to correct a few issues. It came around so quickly I went right in and bought another, due to it's comparable / real value. The neck pockets and neck heal are an issue, as they all are low labor prod, units. Neck pockets are rough chisel jobs and need to be fixed. The pups and pots work ok but change them up to some or higher end parts. The body weight and specs are about as good as any. The CV neck > wood/ finish and resonance is stellar. A 60's thin neck with a nearly veneered fingerbboard give you a bright and clear tone like a maple neck but the warner feel of rosewood. The frets are very soft and near zero mass; basically monkey metal. I refretted with a med hard german wire with a higher profile and a custom bone nut. Sounds like a lot of work but there is almost no new units that come dimmed out; or even set up at this point in time. The result is a unit that will rival anything, any price range out there, if you do some work. The CV neck s so good I placed one on a heavy ash body custom shop designed model and it feels and sounds so Tele-sonic it would scare you. Point: great value as a starter unit to play or build on. If you want to use it as a builders platform it's a steal in some ways. It's all what you make of it.

I am addicted to this guitar. I love the look, the feel and sound of this guitar.I compared it to an American made tele (not that I could afford one) before I bought it and was surprised to find I preferred the feel of the CVC. I can see why it got such great reviews - highly recommend this little beauty.

Bought this cause I got Tele fever. Originally almost went for the black Fender MIM Tele standard, then found this one at a better price. Getting rave reviews everywhere and I can see why. Solid build, stays in tune, beautiful sounding pickups and great craftsmanship. From the factory the fret dressing was nice and the setup was decent. Once I got my free setup (with purchase)it was amazing. Recently took it out to a gig with my Vox amp everyone loved the sound. Really sounds awesome for that glassy high end chime, sounds awesome clean or with some growl. Harmonics are well balanced, clean and well defined in the pickups. I prefer rosewood necks so this was a dream come true. One of the best values for a Tele out there..bar none.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
