Truly, this guitar hits above its weight class. I own a Pro model Strat, and while not as good overall, the CV dors hold its own nicely. Highly recommend

Guitar is amazing for the price! I have a few MIM Fenders, different models of course! This CV has better wood grain and finish and the pickups are actually pretty impressive! I bought it to mod it but have left it pretty stock! It's become one of my main player guitars, not only because the way it looks but the thinline makes it real light! I'm a big les paul fan and a long time Mahogany lover, this guitar provides that at a fraction on the weight! Only downside is the gloss neck but I've gotten used to it! I have a few other guitars that had gloss neck at one point but wore off and now are so comfortable, I'm hoping the classic vibe neck does the same and gets better and faster as it gets used! I'm a chicken picker so the neck profile for me feels right! Awesome, would buy again, I'm looking at the butterscotch next... or maybe a baja! Would get this before getting a MIA! This may not be as good as a MIA but the cost difference is not justified in my books! they make great gigging guitars as well because they're functional and you don't worrie (as much) if something happens! I've had expensive gear get stolen and although I'd be mad... I'd buy an other classic vibe but no one has 2500 to drop on an other Fender CS!

As you examine the wall of guitars so many look nice. But the telecaster? Basic shape, poor looking tail piece with 3 brass slugs attached with screws. Get serious...who'd want one of these things. After watching some youtube videos they actualy sounded pretty good. So I picked one up and give it a try. I loved it. Its a real beauty. It also sounds great. No lack of twang but it also has good bass. I'm not much of a guitarist, more of a life-long chord basher wanna-be, but its fun. Love everything about it but output jack was loose and needed attention. Neck is beautiful, tuners work well. No plans to change anything other than strings(eventualy). I'd buy this guitar again.

I bought this guitar in 2012, brand new for 259 plus tax. The only issue I had was a weak pickup selector...changed it out, and this is my go to guitar. Setup was perfect right off the rack. Fit and finish are as good as or better than guitars that cost 3 times as much. Pickups are very good, and hands down, this will keep up with any US made Tele that I've seen. The neck is smooth, the fretwork is perfect. So lightweight, yet such a big sound. I use a fender mustang 3, and this guitar will do everything I could ever want. Sounds, feels, looks, and plays like a Tele should. If you don't have one of these yet, buy one.

I have had mine for a few years now, and I love it. Sound, and feel can be compared to $1,200-1,900, fender telecaster. I had fallen for a $1,300, telecaster. Never should have let myself play it. All the models in lower range felt like a piece of lumber in my hands until I sat down to try this one. Tried to walk away from it 3 times, but for the price....i could not go home without it. searched for over two years before I played this one. Beauty of the wood, etc is an added bonus. Yes light weight was important. It is perfect.

Had my eye on a Fender Thinline 69 Tele but it was sold when I got to the store so I tried this one. Glad I did because the Squier sounded and felt exactly like the Fender at half the price!

I bought one of these Squier thinline tele's, but mine is the "FSR" Wine Red stained body model. Basically the same guitar, just a different color. These 'classic vibe' guitars are just great. I haven't tried many that I didn't like, and when I tried mine in the store, I knew I had to take it home. The neck feels fantastic, plays very well and far beyond it's meager price tag of only $399. The body and wood grain is beautiful, the entire guitar is one of, if not THE lightest guitars I've ever had, which you'll appreciate if you play one guitar all night on a gig. The pickups sound great, far better than other brand guitars in the same price range, and even better I personally think than a lot of Fender guitars with a much higher price tag. The feel, sound, value and look of these guitars are a steal. Great for the experienced guitarist, and would be a real treat as anyone's 'first guitar' or to learn on. No Bigsby/tremolo arm, but this guitar (at least mine) is very easy to bend the neck a tad to get a little bit/enough string bending for that Bigsby type sound when playing. Just make sure the neck is nice and tight, and don't bend it TOO much now haha! Not sure Fender/Squier would warranty a snapped neck, especially if you told them WHY it snapped. Over all, great guitar, I've bought classic vibe guitars before this one, and I'd buy more if my wife wouldn't hurt me for doing so haha! Check one out near you!

I've owned one of these for about a year now, and have played it frequently. I have much more expensive guitars as well as guitars with more 'brand' recognition, but this one matches those is a lot of areas. Great looks, terrific sound, great setup, the wood is beautiful and there was nothing wrong with it when I purchased it and there's nothing wrong with it now. For certain styles of music it is what I need, and it plays its role perfectly. Who needs anything more?

How these stay on the wall at L&M is beyond me. Beautiful to look at and very fun to play. The only complaint I have is that the nut that holds the output jack wasn't tight, but other than that, the fit and finish on mine was exceptional and came well set up. And the sound...let's just say the stock PUPs are wonderful in my opinion. The bridge belts out glassy to growly depending on your amp settings. Middle and bridge smooth and detailed. All augmented by the hollow body, resulting in an punchy, full-bodied sound especially in the bridge position.

simply awsome guitar...this little peach is un-beatable...light weight...solid mature good looks...great pups with lots of fender 'quack'...neck is a dream...talked to a few luthiers who deal in high-end stuff and they are impressed by this squier model...played a $1,600 fender america thinline and the $400 squier thinline one after another...could not justify the $1,200 price difference...squier got this one right!

I bought this guitar after giving lessons to a friend and he had bought this guitar and brought it over to use foe the lessons. It was the most musical guitar in its price range I have ever played, and to boot it was set up very well. The quality of this guitar was way better than anything like it in this price range, period.!Squire guitars have a new respect in my books.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
