Like a previous reviewer, I was very happy about the sound and feel of these strings. After about three months of light use on a Takamine EG523SC, D string core just clean broke without warning at the bridge during light strumming. Never seen anything like it in the 10 years I have owned this guitar. I gave 4/5 for sound and feel, but near zero for quality and value.

Every set at this price range comes in a 3-Pack, but the product just arrived and it's a single set! I wouldn't have bought these at fifty five dollars for a single set of strings....Oh well, live and learn...

Great strings, and all of the strings look great after quite a bit of playing. If they were nickel the treble strings would have worn out but they are still good. The thing is that these are round core strings, which I like sometimes, but it would be cool if they came out with hex core. Everyone has a different ear but look up round core vs hex core. I love that these are round core, neearly all strings being sold now are hex core.

I put these on a 2014 Dana Bourgeois Signature Series OM in great condition with no previous issue about string break. I sensed with these a tension that made me hesitate and not bring them up to normal tuning tension. Good sound nice bass all good things. After 20 hours on I just tried taking it up to normal tuning. Never made it the G snapped, which is what I sensed might happen. The core I think is the issue. I use Retro Martins and they're fine. These go back and should be given right back to the rep. I would not recommend buying these strings. I've been playing for 50 some years. Nothing wrong with the instrument. Something fundamentally wrong with this product. I doubt these will catch on at any price. Before the string snapped I was considering trying these on all my acoustics. Everybody else on this page seems to like them. It wasn't a missed flaw. They were tuned from a half down to low C and on 20 hours.

These Martin strings have now been on the guitar for over 3 months and they still sound and play like new.The sympathetic harmonics when you hit a note are still ringing as clearly as the day I put them on. And the intonation is steady as a rock. These strings are truly a better way of doing things for sure!!!!

These strings have now been on my guitar for a couple of months and have been played somewhere between 80 and 100 hours. They actually sound and feel a little better than they did before which is nuts considering how much I've played them. And like the Martin promo says after this much time they're still like new. They make playing a totally new experience from my point of view because they cooperate with every aspect of playing. Like most serious players will tell you playing is always a series of compromise as far as tone ,playability, and intonation with any brand of strings I've ever used.I'm stunned daily by the fact that I don't have to worry about any of those concerns with these strings. They inspire me every time I pick up the guitar. Thanks to the guys a Martin that took the time to perfect these.

I started making a living playing guitar in 1972. And in all my years of playing have never played any string that lives up to all the hype the company puts out. They're what seems to be a ridiculous price but worth every penny of it.My style over the years has evolved in mostly fingerstyle and it seemed nuts to put a set of strings on at pitch that is basically a medium set but they play like they lights and have the best intonation of any string I've ever used. I put them on a couple of weeks ago and they're actually everything Martin says they are. They truly are a quantum leap in string making.
