Welcome to the Halifax music lesson centre, located at 6065 Cunard Street. We offer 18 well-equipped studios and a faculty of 25 engaging and dedicated independent music teachers. Our aim is to provide music lessons catered to the needs of each individual student We offer instruction in a wide range of instruments from piano and voice, to strings, percussion, and guitar. Allie has been in the Canadian Music Industry since 1975. He has toured Canada, the U.S., Britain, Sweden, Australia, and Germany and has over 125 album credits as a studio musician. In 2003 he was Musical Director of The Rise And Follies Of Cape Breton - The Second Coming. In 2005 he was presented with the East Coast Music Association’s Musicians Achievement Award. Nominated for 2 Music Nova Scotia Awards – Educator of the Year and Traditional / Roots Recording of the Year for his CD “Full Circle.” Allie has been teaching music since 1992 and his rate for a half hour private lesson is $25.00.

He has appeared on stage with a number of acts such as Nathan Wiley, Blue Rodeo, Sam Roberts, Dutch Mason, Matt Mays, and Jill Barber, received a Juno during his tenure with “Johnny Favourite” and currently he plays regularly with “The Mellotones”, “The Metric System”, “Joe Murphy”, “The Hopping Penguins”, and hosts a long standing weekly blues jam at Bearly’s. Carolyn Curry is an accomplished vocalist, pianist and songwriter. A teacher, performer and music director in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Carolyn is also a part-time instructor at St Francis Xavier University, where she teaches songwriting and leads the a cappella ensemble. She has a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from the University of North Texas, 2011-13 and has since performed and recorded with ECMA nominated funk group Unidentified Funk Object, and its spin-off children's music project, Dr G Goes to Space! Her musical adaptation of Russian fairy tale "Tsarevitch Ivan, The Firebird and The Grey Wolf" was produced by Terra Novella Theatre in 2019 as "Firebird: the Musical". Stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Emily became a full-time musician with the Stadacona Band of the Royal Canadian Navy in 2017. A member of the Canadian Armed Forces since 2011, she has had many opportunities both in Canada and overseas such as The Changing of The Guard ceremony on Parliament Hill, The Bermuda Tattoo, and The Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium as the first female Canadian to participate in the Last Post Ceremony. Emily has performed with various orchestras such as the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, the National Academy Orchestra, Symphony Nova Scotia, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. Emily‘s formal training includes a Bachelor of Music with honours in Music Education from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters of Music in performance at the University of Ottawa. Fiona has a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in composition from the University of Toronto, a Master of Music from Newcastle University, where she studied composition and improvisation, and a Bachelor of Music from Dalhousie University, specializing in clarinet performance. Fiona also studied piano and voice privately. Fiona has taught music in various settings including private music lessons, workshops, and University music courses. In addition to teaching music, Fiona also works as a music director, performs music in a variety of styles, and is an award-winning composer whose song cycle “Lady of the Lake” was nominated for an ECMA for Classical Composition of the Year in 2018. Katie has performed across the United States and Canada; recent credits include performances at Carnegie Hall with Essential Voices USA and the New York Pops (A Frank and Ella Christmas and The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein), Mother Superior in Sister Act at The Frederick Loewe Theatre, Featured ensemble in On the Town in New York City’s historic Provincetown Playhouse, along with other performances at New World Stages, Skirball Center for the Performing Arts and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. Equally as passionate about her love of teaching, she has had the pleasure of teaching as adjunct faculty at NYU, Broadway Artists Alliance (coach), vocal faculty at Belvoir Terrace and teaching privately with Katie Cochrane Voice Studio in Canada, the USA, and online!
