Past meets present; the new VOX SUPERBEETLE combines iconic looks with stunning NuTube sound.
Mini and mighty, the all-new VOX MINI SUPERBEETLE 25 inherits the iconic look of 60's and adds all-new analog NuTube circuitry for authentic tube tone. Complete with the iconic chrome stand and distinctive VOX styling, the MINI SUPERBEETLE delivers the sounds of a classic VOX amp in a compact, cool package that's the perfect addition to any guitarists' home.

Serious sound that exceeds its appearance
NuTube is the new vacuum tube developed in a collaboration between KORG and Noritake Itron. This dream device uses vacuum fluorescent display technology to obtain the same vacuum tube sound and response, while eliminating the problematic aspects of a vacuum tube. The Nutube is used in the VOX MINI SUPERBEETLE, faithfully reproducing the tonal character of VOX's legendary AC30. The sparkling, chimey sound that has captivated guitarists for more than fifty years is alive and well in this new amplifier.

Additionally, the traditional VOX tremolo effect has also been included. The amplitude of the tremolo also changes the depth of Nutube distortion, varying the sound, resulting a true tube driven tremolo effect. Also provided is a digital reverb that simulates a classic spring reverb, dramatically improving the potential for shaping your sound. An extension speaker cabinet can also be added to this package for more volume when you need it. The MINI SUPERBEETLE is not merely a reproduction of the classic stack; it is a true re-imagination of the amp that has been updated to meet the needs of today's players.

Features:
• Iconic design inherited from the classic stacks of the British Invasion
• Traditional VOX AC tones, powered by Nutube, with a maximum output of 50W (at 40)
• An open-backed cabinet equipped with one 10-inch Celestion speaker

This little amp packs a serious punch! Great vintage looks aside, this head and cab combo sound incredible. I've played my Les Paul, SG and Les Paul Jr with a P90 through this and have been seriously impressed with the tone and volume this combo produces. The reverb and tremolo are great and it takes a tube screamer really well. The tone can go from chimey and bright to thick and warm and anywhere in between. I'll be looking for an extension cabinet soon to see what this little head can do at full 50 watts. Don't let it's diminutive size fool you, this amp sounds much bigger than you'd think. Looks great in the living room to boot!

So, for my first head/cab combo, and for something just intended to practice in an apartment... this is great for me. It's surprisingly loud, and I often need to dial the volume/gain in just so as to not bother my neighbours. It takes pedals surprisingly well, though there's no FX loop. I ultimately decided it was worth it to forgo the loop for the Vox brightness and chime. Expensive for a what is ultimately being used as a practice amp, but it pairs nicely with my Gretsch & Rickenbacker, so... I'm happy until I can splash out for something bigger & pricier in the future.

Just for reference I have only played a 53’ Gretsch Duo Jet and an American Original 60’s Tele through this amp, so single coil pickups only. This amp is really cool looking, and about 75% of the decision to buy it was based on aesthetics and novelty alone, so I wasn’t expecting it to be my only (gigging) amp or anything. Over all it’s a great little package, decent price, well made, and very different, sort of reminds me of the mini Marshall stacks they made (and I owned before) they were sort of a novelty, not made for gigging or anything super serious, just messing around at home, kids starting out playing etc. This feels the same, you’re not going to get the same tone as an actual AC15 or AC30, it’s a single 10” speaker, and not REALLY tubes, yes they are the NuTube which emulates or imitates a real amp tube, but it’s not the same thing, no matter what the hype says. The speaker/amp sounds a little boxy, especially when standing right in front of it with your ears 2-3 feet above the speaker, but it’s still pretty decent sound. The reverb is a bit much, I find (for my taste anyways) that it’s best with not too much, dial around 9 o’clock, anything more and it’s a wash, kind of overkill and even sloppy/noisy. But it’s not real spring and tube driven reverb, so you get what you pay for there, it’s decent for this type of amp, put it that way. The tremolo is ok, when the amp is being played clean it’s decent and almost sounds like real tremolo, but when the gain gets up there, it almost acts like a tremolo and flanger to my ears, which can be cool if you like that, but can also be annoying if you only wanted an authentic sounding tremolo. It gets pretty loud, way louder than you’d need for just noodling or practicing, which will be good if you intend on using it for small gigs, jamming at a reasonable volume at a friends house etc. I am impressed with how loud it can get being such a small amp, single 10” speaker and imitation tubes, it’s pretty impressive that way. Over all I feel this is a novelty amp, a cool little thing you intend to display, look at, play occasionally in your music room, and maybe bring out to a small gig or friends house to mess around with. If I was looking for a small amp to gig with that’s really portable, loud enough I would probably buy a Fender Pro Jr. honestly, who wants the hassle of carrying a cabinet and head, cords etc. when being quick and easy to set up and ease of transport is the goal? But, that would run me another $200 or more for that amp, and really what I bought this one for was looks, nostalgia, novelty with the ability to still actually play through it from time to time. It is a cool little thing, but this is not your one and only ‘gigging amp’ I feel. For $449 it’s a good deal still, regardless of the negatives I mentioned above, a lot of music bluetooth speakers cost more than this Vox mini Superbeetle (guess they didn’t get the rights to Superbeatle? lol) and this is much louder, and way cooler looking so, as long as you keep in mind it’s potential, it’s intended designed use, it’s a good little amp and package.

I am using it with another speaker 150 watts from Traynor, with an 8 ohm, 8 inches. I can now crank the amplifier at 50 watts using the MSB25 simultaneously. I am satisfied, thus I can play with a drummer by my side. I am not regretting buying this little amp.

I expected it to be a little bigger, even though I knew the measurements, but is just right for my application. Good detail on the cabinets. Sounds Great, especially for such a small amp! I turn the bass all the way up and it gives the bottom end needed for me and my guitars. I like the Reverb and Tremelo despite what some people say online. It is in my living room, but could be used for a small venue as is. There are 2 things I would have done differently. 1. On the back of the amp there are small switches etc. and the lettering above them is dark and very small, very hard to read, although you don't need to use them all the time. I use a light and magnifying glass to see them. The control panel on the top of the amp also has dark lettering which is hard to see under dim lighting conditions. 2. I think with the amp being so small, it would have been very good and very cool if Vox would have made it so the amp could pivot in the stand like the AC100, this way the sound would be directed more to the player and audience and would have really give it that extra finishing touch. Other than those minor things, I am extremely happy with the Amp!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
