Charvel turns modern high performance on its head with the new Pro-Mod DK24 HH 2PT CM, a brazen instrument for the progressive guitarist searching for an unparalleled spectrum of sound.

Featuring a sculpted shredder's cut heel and a scalloped lower back bout for easy upper access to the fingerboard, the alder body in the classic Dinky™ style is cloaked in several stage-stealing finishes - Gloss Black, Matte Blue Frost, Satin Burgundy Mist or Three-Tone Sunburst.

The bolt-on caramelized maple "speed" neck has graphite reinforcement, silky-smooth hand-rubbed urethane back finish, heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel and Luminlay side dots. Its 12"-16" compound radius caramelized maple fingerboard features comfortable rolled edges, 24 jumbo frets, pearloid dot inlays and Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut.

Brimming with versatility courtesy of the mini two-way toggle switch for series and parallel, this axe features an HH pickup configuration consisting of a direct mount Custom Seymour Duncan Full Shred SH-10B bridge pickup and direct mount Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-1N neck pickup. The bridge pickup radiates a crisp top-end with low-end articulation, while the neck pickup has incredible range with soaring highs and silky lows.

Blending sophisticated style with assertive tone, the DK24 HH 2PT CM also offers premium modern features such as a five-way blade pickup switch, Stratocaster-style skirt knobs for the volume (with 500K EVH Bourns low-friction potentiometer) and no-load tone controls, Gotoh Custom 510 recessed tremolo bridge, locking tuners, chrome hardware and more.

I ordered this guitar through the online store, I won't make that mistake again. The guitar was very poorly packed, it was open when It was delivered luckily it wasn't damaged. The guitar is really nice but the nut on mine was a mess, the slots were cut crooked which caused tuning issues also it was hanging off the edge of the fret board and the bass side was super high( I could have put 2 string in the low E slot). So after I spent some time reshaping the nut and replaced the god awful strings they shipped it with it plays pretty nice. Needless to say I will be shopping at my local L&M from now on.

This guitar's wonderful. It plays so well it put every other guitar I own to shame, even my prior #1. Whenever I try a new guitar, I base my opinion on the neck specs by how closely it gets to my Charvel's. I've played guitars that cost much more, and they barely surpassed this guitar's quality and playability. With a Gotoh 510, SD pickups, a Graphtec nut and EVH electronics, the bang for your buck is near unbeatable. Mine was so ringy that I had to replace the stock metal string trees to graphtec tusq ones so the B/e string tree would stop vibrating! The pickups do pretty much everything I want them to, especially with all the tonal opportunities the 5-way switch and the in and out of phase switch give me. Comfort is absolutely elite and the upper fret access is way better than I thought any bolt on guitar could be. Only gripe about it was that the saddles were a little sharp,I broke a full set of elixirs, which I was told were meant to last you extremely long and a couple high E's. No biggie, switched them out for graphtec string savers and haven't had any problems with the guitar since. Buy it now, or buy any other Pro-mod for that matter, you won't regret it!

I learned on a cheapo Jackson Dinky when I started playing, and upgraded to this guy right here. The neck is ridiculously fast and easy to play, stock pickups sound truly great through my little Katana 50 (and sounded so good through the mesa boogie at the shop). Cleans are great, and I can even get a pretty nice warm / jazzy tone when I roll the tone all the way off. Unbelievably impressed by the guitar that you get for your money. Charvel (Fender) nailed it with these! Also, shout out to the team at LM Ottawa, great dudes, always super helpful.

Not much to say except that I love this guitar! I tried les pauls, strats, teles, and almost every other guitar and settled on this beautiful Charvel! I owned a strat previously and was looking for something more and this Superstrat definitely delivers! It has 10 tones available with the parallel/series toggle switch and 5-way selector. The humbuckers give a nice beefy tone and the neck pickup in series offers a nice neck postition strat tone. The neck feels like a dream and is very comfortable! can't recommend enough.

This is my first Charvel guitar, I’ve always wanted one since I started playing guitar when I was a kid. I finally bit the bullet ordered this one and I am beyond impressed with this guitar. The neck is the first thing I noticed, so fast and thin and probably my most comfortable guitar to play puts my other to shame. The full shred and alnico pro 2 are a fantastic combination in this guitar. I was hesitant never using or trying them before but the Pro 2 is my new favourite neck pickup. The series/parallel switch is a nice feature I am not a fan of push pots/tap coils but this little switch is in the perfect position for my pinky finger to flick it. It opens a whole pallet of tones making this guitar versatile enough for any musical genre you can absolutely think of. It’s a Mexican build and the quality is beyond remarkable I’ve played and tried some of the American models and I cannot tell the difference. I’ve been playing for 23 years and usually it can be painfully obvious between an American, Mexican, Japanese or Indonesia models but this is can not!

Bought this about to weeks ago and after doing a bit of sweat equity polishing frets and de-burring fret ends it feels like it's worth much more. Fit and finish were good with no issues to note. Pups are well balanced and sound good clean or saturated although I will be changing out the volume pot for a CTS with a normal taper. Overall great purchase.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
