Transparency. Clarity. Accuracy.

Kali Audio's Lone Pine Series studio monitors are designed to allow you to hear every detail that's happening in your mix.

This starts with an exceptionally accurate frequency response. Whatever is present on your mix is what you'll hear in these monitors. Nothing is boosted or suppressed to cover flaws or try to sound more pleasing.

With the LP-6 and LP-8, you can mix with more confidence, and you can also be assured that your mix will translate as best as possible to whatever systems your audience is using.

Listening Distance
Kali Audio defines a listening distance as the maximum distance at which the speakers can play continuously at 85 dB while maintaining 20 dB dynamic headroom. This means that anywhere within that listening distance, you can listen for long periods of time at reference volume, and momentary peaks such as bass drops or explosion effects will come through clearly and with minimal distortion. The LP-6 has enough output for most 1-2 person setups, and the LP-8 can handle larger setups easily.

3-D Imaging Waveguide
The waveguide on the Lone Pine Series studio monitors ensures that the directivity of the loudspeaker is smooth throughout its frequency response. What's more: it's calibrated so that the sound power of the loudspeaker helps you to perceive sound accurately. This gives the speakers a more natural, lifelike feel that exposes more of the detail of the material that you're working on.

Features
3-D Imaging Waveguide - Hear three dimensional sound from a stereo pair of speakers.
Dual-Layer Voice Coil - Large diameter voice coil allows for low distortion and high dynamic range.
Low Noise Port Tube - Precisely engineered using airflow simulations for powerful bass without port noise.
Easy Connections - The LP-6 and LP-8 both feature balanced XLR and TRS inputs, and an unbalanced RCA input.
Lowest Distortion in its Class - a full 6 dB lower than its nearest competitor. This is achieved via design considerations that optimize woofer performance.

Hi , 30 years of recording & mixing here .
IMHO
1- Good home Multi-media speaker
2- Good for electro - Dance - Pop ,
or any clean sound
3- Tweeter not good for Rock - Guitar distortion
For the price it's ok but at near the same level price
Guitar players & Rock producers will be more happy with The Yamaha HS series

Decided to get these as a second set of monitors for my studio. The price point was a no brainer at the time, so I just decided to try them after reading all the great reviews. Well, let's start with the fact that they are just extremely poorly built and made. Ok for the price can't ask for a lot, but damn... Both of the monitors came like this right out of the box. Now the hiss. I have had plenty of monitors and even my older Mackies didn't make so much hiss from the tweeter. What's up with that? Now the sound and the stereo imaging. You will need to do some serious room adjustments and calibration for these to start sounding OKish. Mids are thin and flat. Lows are over-exaggerated. No instrument separation even with high-end converters. For the price, they would be OK for home listening. I really wanted to like them even with their physical deformities. But no, they are just bad speakers. You get what you pay for. 0 resale value too with such craftsmanship.

I bought these to replace KRK Rokit-6s and the clarity of the sound is impressive. They have a good array of options to tweak the sound to fit a home studio space with the switches on the back. As others have noted, there is an audible noise floor when I am less than a meter or so from the monitors, and I was worried that it would be a deal-breaker, but the quality of the sound I'm getting from them for the price more than makes up for it for me.

I am absolutely STUNNED at the quality of these speakers. Just. WOW These are GREAT! End of story. I was planning on buying a subwoofer next. but I'm not going to now. I'm shocked at the low end that comes out of these. This is the best purchase I've made in a while

tldr: if you're considering them - just buy em I have all sorts of audio gear. I'm an avid listener and have been in the music realm for a couple decades and enjoy quality gear. I was willing to spend a lot more on monitors for my small home studio space but I selected the Kali's because of the great reviews. They are a substantial speaker but they fit and perform well in my 12x8 room. Welll..pfft. Just buy them. I own a Komplete Kontrol S-series and the Maschine Mk3. Creating sounds and listening through these are a joy. Yes ...good clarity...deep bass. I was planning on purchasing a sub for playback purposes but I wont get a sub now. These things thump with uncoloured tight bass. They have a flat response and sound great across all frequencies. They are wonderful near field monitors with lovely dynamic range for all sorts of music. I put them to the test with a few audiophile reference playlists and they performed very well- I tested them with thumpy boom boom, and tweep blurp music as well as metal, vocal jazz, live performances from Diana Krall to Mastodon. I dont want to go to bed.

I had placed an order for Yamaha hs5's that wouldn't have arrived in time so instead i opted for these Kali monitors. Just incredible sound, clear, clean, precise, a true and honest sound. I'm happy i went these instead.

Here is my review of these monitors after a decent amount of testing. The first thing I noticed about them on the showroom floor is that they are quiet compared to others in the rack. Taking them into the studio however, where I can level match them and mix at a reasonable level made a huge difference. The stores noise floor is around 70db, I mix at around 75db at the most. I own a set of YSM6’s in my studio, the input gain on them has to be turned way down so that I won’t inadvertently damage my hearing. On the Kali LP-6’s they were set to unity to achieve the same output. Great feature on these are the dip switches on the rear that adjust the speakers internal eq for where the speaker will be positioned in relation to your studio space. Against the wall, off the wall half’s metre, off the wall more than half a metre, on stands, on mixing desk, etc. The sound from these after level matching was impressive, clear high end information and relatively flat response on the mids. The low end information is there but not as bass heavy as the YSM6 or Rokit7. You can hear what’s going on there but you wont feel it as much. All in all you should be able to mix good tracks with these monitors once you get used to them. They do a great job at this price point. Competing well with the YSM6, Rokit7,HS7. Just realise that in the store they will sound quieter than the others. In the studio they are more than loud enough. They are accurate at proper listening levels. The blue power light on the front is a bit bright but some tape or black marker on them should take them a bit.

Good sounding monitors for the price. Unfortunately the tweeter hiss/noise is real just like everyone had been saying. The noise isn't too loud, however, it shouldn't really be there to begin with in my opinion. My BX5 didn't have noise, my KRK didn't have noise, my brothers 10 year old Yorkville's don't have noise, Kali LP6 do...

These monitors are amazing. They are designed and built by three ex-JBL engineers. I've had them several weeks and am extremely happy. The fact their web site shows detailed freq response graphs, distortion levels etc was a strong determining factor in my decision, they aren't hiding anything. Online reviews are fantastic & the price point is great. They are very revealing, I hear things in recordings I was never aware of. The bass response is flat and goes impressively low for a small driver. Admittedly they aren't the best looking monitors out there. Dont be put off by them not being a well known label.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.

Great Additions
