11-Piece Professional Electronic Drum Kit

The Strike Pro Special Edition is a standard-setting electronic drum kit that features a full-sized 20-inch kick for incredible feel and impact, latest-generation mesh heads for unequalled response and the most capable, versatile drum module ever. The full-sized kick gives drummers an unprecedented degree of response and impact - unmatched by any other electronic kit - enabling the Strike Pro Special Edition to absolutely redefine the playing experience and realism for electronic drums.

Strike Performance Module
The Strike Pro Module is by far the most versatile and capable module that Alesis has ever offered. A large measure of the amazing playability and character of this kit is due to the expansive sound library with over 136 custom kits made from over 1800 instruments and 45,000 samples. The module has onboard sampling capability, 16GB external card storage, and USB/MIDI connectivity, which you can use in conjunction with your favourite music production software as well as the powerful new Strike Software Editor. With this editor players can assemble their own custom samples into multiple velocity layer and round-robin instruments, piece together the perfect drum kit, and then transfer it onto the module via USB. Every feature and control is incredibly easy to keep track of, thanks to the Strike Pro Module's 4.3-inch colour LED screen, which displays all the player's settings and choices at a quick glance. It adds up to unprecedented flexibility and programmability, combined with total mastery of the kit's status.

I have had this kit about 6 months now. I am hoping that the quality control problems mentioned in other reviews are now addressed because I have not had any issues. the hi-hat can still be a little temperamental but my best advice is to try different kits as some of them have better hat response than others. Also note that cross-sticking is only supported on some kits and there is no dedicated cross stick zone. The module is a beast and you can import or create your own sounds as well as easily record your performances. Some of the built in kits sound really good as well. This kit is a blast to play and great value for money as far as ekits go. Also if you dampen the bass drum it’s a lot quieter to play than some other kits as the cymbals are surprisingly quiet and the all mesh heads are quite low volume.

I have owned a Strike Pro for 2.5 yrs. It is an impressive set when you look at the brain functions, but not quality hardware. My ride cymbal has been in for repair 3 times, just stopped responding to triggers and started making random sounds. Last time it took 1.5 yrs to get it back, I got it back after the L&M store rep went above and beyond to get one to me as Alesis didn\'t have replacements. Now my cymbal rubber is cracking. Don\'t expect anyone help from Alesis, they are useless. They are suppose to have a Canadian rep, but I have never received any help from them. Worst customer service I have ever seen.

I have been researching for a long time before i bought this and im pretty happy with my choice so far (4 months). If you find you dont have enough input well splitters are your best friend or get a second one (2 Alesis strike for the price of one Roland). I love the color plus you can get wraps for them if you want to change the style a bit. Big recommendation is get a TAMA double pedal with this kit or a double pedal with beaters close to each other since the basedrum foam where you hit is only 8 inches wide. It has a diffent feel outside of the foam. I used a dw3000 originally and replaced it with a speed cobra. The module is wicked and you can buy kits premaid (drum tec) or create your own. You can order extra cymbals with boom, just need to split tom to cymbal and save to user kit. The set-up in the picture is not the way set-up mine. I have a side bar in the front so i can fit 3 toms and the smaller bar on the right for the floor. It looks better to me. Anyways, I love this kit and i would not even change it for a Roland unless they cut their price in half or add a rack to their VAD series.

Don't get me wrong, this kit looks and feels great. The price tag is very appealing considering the number of pieces you get and the hihat trigger seems mostly resolved. Some of my minor grievances on the triggers... I do get the close hihat trigger to sometimes randomly fire at semi open levels and also dealing with issues with the floor tom giving me a flam sound at times. I've been tinkering with the setting for several hours and looking for solutions online, but remains unresolved at this point. My biggest issue is that I got this thing for only a few weeks and dealing already with a broken cymbal pad. By comparison, my Yamaha took 10 years of severe beating before giving me any issues on the cymbals. I seriously question the durability and quality of the build. After contacting support a couple times, they have responded saying I should expect a call back. They were apologetic about the delay but still haven't heard further after some more reminders. Should be a simple warranty claim but it's been 2 weeks without any concrete action from Alesis. Ultimately, this kit comes with caveats. At that price point, you need to live with the risk of issues. If you want peace of mind, go with a more established brand like Roland or Yamaha. If you are willing to spend the time and effort to dial everything to get it back to a decent sounding kit and the price unlocks features otherwise outside your price range, then that's a good option.

Best investment I have ever made. Kits sound amazing and the drums look and feel incredible. I went with the Mapex all black hi-hat stand to compliment the rest of the kit. Hi-hat issue has been eliminated and the triggering is perfect. Also love how easy it is to expand the library. Very happy with my purchase and shout out to the employees at the waterloo location! Thanks for all your help and I am having a blast with this kit.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
