Bass Traveler is a portable headphone amplifier with two 1/8-inch headphone jacks that lets two people listen at the same time to the same signal. Many personal digital music players have a limited output for driving high-quality headphones - which may have a higher impedance, a lower passband voltage sensitivity or both - but Bass Traveler has a 2-level gain switch to boost the signal level, so the sound is always crisp and clear. It is ideal for use with virtually all headphones from 16-100 ohms.

Bass Traveler connects easily to any device that has a standard 1/8-inch output jack. A rotary on/off/volume control makes it easy to operate. The long-lasting built-in rechargeable lithium polymer battery provides several hours of uninterrupted listening enjoyment. There is an LED indicator for power on, battery charge, and low battery indication, and battery charging is done through the convenient micro USB port.

Features:

• Battery-powered amplifier can drive two sets of headphones
• Long-lasting (approx. 8 hours) rechargeable Lithium polymer battery
• LED indicator for power on, battery charge, low battery
• (2) 1/8-inch (3.5mm) stereo headphone jacks
• Rotary on/off/volume control
• Selectable 2-position boost switch optimizes sound for any headphone
• Compatible with headphones from 16100 ohms
• Micro USB port for battery charging
• (1) 1/8-inch (3.5mm) stereo input jack
• Compatible with most popular in-line remote control headphones

I have this unit, and it will not do much for you as a stand alone headphone amp. Unit only shows it's true colours when you put it between a good headphone amp like the Fiio's / Cayin 5 etc, and your IEMs / headphones. The Bass Traveler is more like a EQ for Baseheads like me, with 3 hard points of bass EQ to pick from. From my phone, I run my music through my Cayin 5 with bass boast on, then I run it through the M-Audio Bass Traveler, then from there to my Sony XB90's, Sennheiser IE80s, and Sony MDR-7550 With the two base settings on the Cayin 5, and 3 on the Bass Traveler, I have 6 setting to play with to find the right sound. WARNING!! This is very heavy on the bass, and recommended for bass lovers only. Quality of Sound For portable sound, I'm very impressed with what I'm hearing. It's not a Beats buzzy bass. It sounds very clean and natural, just lots of it. As a basshead, I have always had to make do with what I could find, and afford, living with sub-par bass levels. I now have more bass then I can handle, and that says allot for me. Is there better, ya, it's in my bedroom, sitting on my desk, almost coming in at $1000.00. With the Bass Traveler coming in at +- $35.00 it's a steel for anyone who is bass hungry, and on a budget. It really does leave you with a Wow feeling the first time you use it.

Whether through my sennheisers, or even my little sony ear buds, this little amp definitely wakes up whatever headphones I throw at it. I've had it for several months now and no issues whatsoever. The boost function is neat, but not overly useful. I really like the dual outputs, and battery life is fantastic. Worth it.

I bought this product about three months ago. At the start I was happy with what it did for the price. However recently I started to get a very loud crackling noise when using it. I tried swapping cables but have determined that it was the amp causing the problem. I mean 30 dollars is really cheap for an amp but its really annoying to need a new one every 3 months. Better off saving up for a better quality one.
