LEGENDARY TONE FOR YOUR HOME

The JC-22 Jazz Chorus delivers Roland's classic JC clean tone and famous Dimensional Space Chorus effect in a compact amp thats perfect for playing at home. Offering the essential features of the popular JC-40 in an even more scaled-down size, this versatile stereo amp is also great for intimate performances and recording. A high-quality reverb complements the onboard chorus, and theres also a stereo input on the front panel for plugging in modelers, multi-effects, and stereo stomps. Built to the same standards of sound and durability that the long-running amp series is noted for, the JC-22 makes legendary JC tone more accessible than ever.

Iconic JC Clean Tone and Built-In Effects

Around the world, the Roland JC series is renowned as the benchmark in clean guitar amplification. With the JC-22, you can now have that authentic tone in a light, compact package. Two independent power amps and custom-designed speakers deliver the genuine clean sound of the larger JC amps, while the trademark Dimensional Space Chorus effect fills the room with immersive 3D sound. The amp also includes a great-sounding reverb that operates in true stereo for rich, expansive tone.

The Ultimate Home Amp

For playing and practicing at home, theres no better platform than the JC-22. Its classic clean tone is ideal for use with all types of stompbox pedals, and you can even plug in stereo effects devices for wide, inspiring sound. The JC-22 works great with stereo-capable delay, reverb, and modulation pedals, and its also perfectly suited for advanced gear that employs amp modeling, multi-effects, and/or synth capabilities.

Connect and Control

The JC-22s rear panel is filled with connectivity options. Theres an effects loop for patching in mono or stereo effects, and you even have your choice of series or parallel operation. Line Out jacks give you a convenient direct feed to a mixing console or recorder, while plugging into the Headphones jack automatically mutes the onboard speakers for quiet practice sessions with phones. Theres also support for optional footswitches, which allow you to turn the JC-22s chorus and reverb effects on/off while playing.

This amp is really great. I had a JC-40, which was fantastic, but way too loud. I decided to pick this up after going through a few different amps, which were also too loud (Orange Crush Pro 60 combo and a Vox AC-15—these were great amps too).
The tone is beautiful and sparkly with single coils. The reverb and chorus are fantastic. Multi-effects boxes sound great through it.
I am very pleased with this amp. It's much louder than it looks. I only play it volume 1... and this amp can take your head off with a wah pedal lol (in a smaller room...)
What an amazing purchase. I would buy another one immediately if something happened to mine...
Thanks L&M Bloor for bringing in a new one from Pickering...

I am converted. As a player of tune amps, this is first solid state amp that I have played in over 30 years. It is clean, articulate, chimey and very lush. The reverb is very usable, and the stereo chorus is warm and rich. I also very much like the switch that transforms the amp from bright to warm. It is one of my favorite features. It is surprisingly loud and can be used imo for home jamming, practice (headphone for late nights), small gigs, through a PA for mod sized gigs, and is perfect for studio or home recording. It also takes pedals very well and the effects loop is a great feature as well. Overall, this is a pricier amp and does not have all the features that modeling amps have, but is has tone and some features that make it my favorite solid state amp of all time. I would sacrifice multi-effects, different amp models and other features for the tonal quality and build of the JC-22.

Got this to replace an overly loud and heavier JC40. The bells and whistles are the same as the larger amp except the chorus can't be turned totally off, there is no revered (or hated) distortion knob or vibrato setting. Sounds a little more midrangy but blame the speakers at 6.5 inches rather than the 10 inch speakers in the larger amp. Still sounds good though even though its bigger than one would think and louder too. I keep mine at one on the volume and its plenty for a small room. Still the cleanest amp tone around.

As small as it may be, I practice with the volume on one. I put the bass on 10, scoop the middle, and put the treble on five, with the bright switch off. Sounds OK to me. Many thanks to Shaun who literally went out of his way to deliver mine.

Great amp. The speakers are very good even though they are only 6.5", they sound amazing. Nice and compact size, perfect for the bedroom or home and even a small venue. It gets louder than you expect when you turn it up. The clean signal takes pedals very well and you don't have to worry about tubes. The JC has been around for a long time, these things are bulletproof and mastered. You can't go wrong with this, pairs up well with all guitars. My only suggestion is if you run an overdrive or distortion pedal into it, turn the bright switch off. If you don't, it will sound like a swarm of bees; these amps are bright have lots and lots of treble.

Bought this amp to go with my Epiphone Joe Pass for playing chord melody jazz. It's a perfect match. I had the guitar for a while, but wasn't getting the "sound" I wanted out of my existing amp. After getting the JC-22 it only took a few minutes to dial in the sound I was missing. As with other styles of guitar, having the right amp makes a difference. This amp is low wattage, but perfect for home use or a small quiet venue. A decent guitar, a set of flat wounds, and a jazz chorus amp - it doesn't get any better.

This is a nice portable clean sound . The chorus sound is awesome and the reverb is nice and deep.A true stereo amp that is fairly loud . A very clean sounding amp.It is apples and oranges with say a fender blues jr. I don't care for its overdriven sound. It may be ok with a distortion or a fuzz but I'd use a different amp for rock. The 6.5 inch speakers are small . If I bought another, I would go for the JC40

Would check out pros and style they play before purchasing. Fender makes a similar closed back ? Called princeton. Owned 70's 120 . Sold maybe 2010. These are really, really well made almost industrial standard amps from my experience. Still want to try the other ones and that four by twelve they built!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
